I have ordered the following products from this site:

Topical Spironolactone Pack
Rogaine Foam - 3 Month

After google a bit about Topical Spironolactone, I am now concerned about the side effects. Please carry on reading,

================Quote=================

Most doctors will not prescribe Spironolactone to men as a hair loss treatment. Spironolactone is probably the most potent oral anti-androgens available and may cause side effects such as impotence, breast enlargement and decreased sex drive etc when taken by men. Despite the potential side effects, many men decided to turn to oral Spironolactone as a last resort. However, Spironolactone is commonly prescribed for women as a hair loss treatment.

Warnings: Spironolactone therapy should not be used in conjunction with any kind of potassium supplementation. As mentioned earlier, Spironolactone minimized potassium loss in the body and excessive potassium may cause hyperkalemia in patients. Do not administer Spironolactone concurrently with other potassium sparing diuretics. Also, some of Spironolactone's side effects include dryness of the mouth, lethargy, drowsiness and thirst especially when administered concomitant with other diuretics.

=====================================

I also came across some information about shedding, it says there will be a shedding period once one starts to use these products.

Also after one decides to stop the treatment, will expect more shedding...

I am really afraid all these treatment will make my situation worse.

Calm down.

The thing you've copy pasted is for oral spironolactone. Oral spironolactone is a relatively safe drug anyway - every drug seems scary when you read a long description of the side effects.

You're not going to get any of those from the topical application of spironolactone.

If I were you, I'd be more concerned about being conned into buying an ineffective product, as there's not much evidence that it works, and IMO, it's not a legitimate treatment option. Wish it was though.

Also, Yahoo Answers sucks big time. People answer questions they know nothing about. Case in point: "Dr" Alice W's answer.

Yeah, that info is about oral spironolactone. I started using topical spironolactone a month or two ago and have had no side effects at all. I also see a decrease in shedding.
