Are men going bald at a younger age?

Anecdotally I'd like to know what people think.

Did you start losing your hair younger than your father? Than your grandfather? Do you think men of your generation are experiencing greater levels of hair loss at a younger age?

My grandad is 86 and norwood 2. My father is 46 and he's somewhere around 4, but he didn't start going bald until his late 30's. Me and my brother started losing our hair in our mid 20's, and I've seen quite a lot of guys around my age are showing early to moderate signs of hairloss. Something just soesn't seem right, even accounting for genetics, late teens and 20's is just too young to be losing your hair, something has to be going on...

Hmm I always assumed it was the opposite. My uncles were all NW7's by their early twenties (no joke). They all started balding in their late teens. I didn't start treatment until recently at age 27 and I was a NW3 Vertex (now a NW2). My older brother hit the jackpot - he's 29 and a NW1 without any treatment to my knowledge.

Not a big deal when you factor in we have propecia verses the nothing they had so we are ahead of game even if we started balding earlier. A couple years from now we might have CB which might prevent male pattern baldness completely not to mention that other stuff. Its a matter of a decade or two before male pattern baldness is not even a topic anymore except the cost to fix it.

For sure! theres a high school in neighbourhood and in the last few years i've been noticing LOTS of 16-18 year with NW2, NW3. which is kinda abnormal. when i look at my high school photos, we ALL had great hair. "NW0". It's weird to see a 16yo kid with NW2 or NW3. unnatural. I just cant get used to...

I know it's primarily due to genetics, and genes for very early balding were present in a number of people. I'm just curious as to whether something about modern life is causing balding to trigger at younger ages. Maybe the hormones in our meat or recycled water, or ingredients in our food.

I am sure it is hormones! average man's testosterone in today's society is nearly 25% lower than man in 1980s and almost 40% from man in 1950s. Its not just hair loss. kids today are like midgets.

No. There's your answer. My filthy lifestyle or my daily masturbation didn't make me and my relatives go bald at 17 instead of 27. We were programmed genetically to go bald at that age....
.

Can you confirm this with some scientific facts? having genetic predisposition for some disease doesn't mean it will develop. Time is important. obwiusly you didn't have much time to fight it. thats bummer.
