For those of you who have had hair transplants, are you happy with it? Do you wish you could go back in time and not do it?

Please give a simple Y/N answer and state what kind of surgery it was and for how many grafts.

My hair transplant is coming up in a week and I'm trying to get some last minute thoughts.

Many thanks.

Very happy, minor procedure (1000) grafts.

Probably would not have had it done sooner as I don't think being bald really bothered me. Getting treatment would not have made much difference to my life as it was.

I'm happy with the descision to do it but not happy that I made bad choices on who to have it done by.
If I could go back I'd have had it done but with a different surgeon and I would have definatley got on finasteride as early as possible.

Hmm, S.A.F.'s post made me think and re-consider.

I would absolutely have started on Finasteride at a younger age if I could turn the clock back.

I am considering a hair transplant, so please answer my 2 questions:

1º FUE or FUT?

2ª What topic and oral medication you have to take to the rest of your life, continue with finasteride and minoxidil?

Thanks in advance

You betcha. Had FUT. Wish I had done it in my 30's. Best decision of my life. No longer worry about hair---awesome.

FUT = strip .... (visible scar / line on the back of your head, no short buzz after)
FUE = hairfollikel extraction with fine hollow needle , no visible scars

and yes you need to keep taking fina to keep what you have of your original hair on top , or you will need more hairtransplants in the future...
dont know about the minoxidil , if you want to boost your original hair a bit then you need to use minoxidil for life , if your still happy with what you have then only fina to keep it stable would be fine

if you start meds then you will have to keep using them...
