Thanks for your replies hoppi in my other topics,i dont know all that much about hairloss but diffuse thinning sounds close to what my problem may be,basically,no bald spots just over all thin actual hair, usually i notice other guys go thin on top like a horseshoe shape but they maintain reasonably thick hair around their sides,i seem to have this thinning all over, the sides are as thin as the crown and i have looked at pics of diffuse thinning and they look similar to my problem,i dont understand what could be causing it,as you said i am going to get a blood test done and get everything checked ie thyroid and everything else ILL also try get some pics on here soon, but what could be the cause and a possible solution? ive gone from reasonably thick good quality hair to what i have now over the last year and a half, grows alot slower and when it does its just very thin hairwith no life to it
ps my temples arent bad at all but as i said just all over thin, plz help!!!!

Low or high thyroid values do not specifically indicate a problem with your thyroid, they simply reflect a current abnormal state of operation. In order to assure that it is your thyroid that is the cause of the problem (if your values are abnormal) and not just a symptom you must first rule out pretty much any other disease/condition/affliction.

If you are thin all over and not just up top then that definitely could be a result of an internal imbalance and not just general androgen receptor caused baldness. There are many different conditions or triggers that can cause this though so an internet diagnosis would be pretty much pointless. Best bet is to go see an endocrinologist and get thorough blood work done.

You don't have to answer each one specifically for privacy purposes but do you often experience any of the following:
Bloating
Indigestion
Acid Reflux
Adrenal swings
Experience different temperature comfort levels from other people
Anxiety
Depression
Bruise easily
Slow wound healing

If so, definitely bring those up with the endocrinologist, I have heard of a lot of realllllly bad endocrinologists however and so if they come back with wanting to treat you for thyroid problems without ruling out everything else, go find a new endocrinologist right away.

yeah well said Brains, I agree that many things can cause problems like this. It could be an immune response like most other kinds of alopecia, it could be a reaction to something, or yes it could be a thyroid issue. I will send you a PM with a bit more info, but I do agree with Brains Expel Hair that you probably need to adopt quite a holistic approach to determine what it is that is making your body react like this. Anyway, I'll send you that PM and I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this! :)
