I have been on Advodart for about a month and have been putting on weight despite training far more than normal and eating correctly. Does the drop in test testosterone translate into more fat, less muscle, less virality, etc.. I just feel like I have lost my edge, drive, etc..
Any thoughts??

You probably have _more_ testosterone now than before. Your body is reacting to the decrease (almost obliteration) of DHT by producing more T (upregulation). The loss of edge, etc. may be attributed to the decrease in DHT. The weight gain can be attributed to an increase in estrogen secondary to the increase in T.

Self-medicating yourself with dutasteride for male pattern baldness, you're playing with fire. Keep that in mind. Finasteride is a far more tested drug and is FDA approved for hair loss for a reason.

Losing a potent androgen like DHT wouldnt help... Im not sure how much the loss of DHT will affect most men (no studies). Those links are written from the point of view of a body-builder, and their goals are a little different than mine... And, they use mega-doses of testosterone and DHT analogs. Im guessing that diet and exercise can still maintain a good male physique (you still have testosterone), but lack of DHT may work against attempts to bulk up. Regarding my midline, I'm goint to have to do a few more sit-ups and drop the zingers and ho-ho's before I blame dutasteride alone for the extra 2 inches im seeing... Its something to think about, certainly, and is one more reason to not take meds lightly... (finasteride lowers DHT by 70% vs dutasteride's 90%).
