Hey, Its my month and since yesterday I noticed more hairs when I take a shower. Today it confirmed it. Lots of little hairs, thin and lifeless. Some looked normal.

I hope this means that the meds are working and not my body freaking. 11 more months to go.

Well, today I showered and bam.... **** load of little thin hairs and some normal ones. One of them was so thick, I didn't even know I had that thick hair on my head (my hair has always been sort of thin). Wispy tiny hairs. I got like 50ish hairs in the shower. I'm excited, hope it means they will all come back.

Well, I took it when I was younger and never noticed a shed. All I noticed was my scalp being really itchy. So after 3 months I sorta gave up and moved on with life. I wish I didn't. But I ****ed up! Now its worse. Not like NW6 worse. I'm a NW2 with diffuse thinning on top... not as bad as what I have seen on here but it isn't going to get better if I sit around and let it get better.

But yeah, at least I know that its "working" and doing something. Most of the hairs are very weak... so I hope they regrow in a few months as thicker hair. NW2, I can totally live with that. Thinning hair? Its a pain! So I hope it thickens up.

Today in the shower it increased my shed. I swear, 100 hairs... just in the shower/combing.

The thing I hate about finasteride and minoxidil is that even though you may not see any improvement it wouldn't be wise to quit because for all you know your hair would have ended up much worse, and if you discontinue you may lose a lot of ground. Therefore your pretty much committed to it for life. Even for those who lost a lot of hair while on the drugs, how do they know that the hair loss wouldn't have ended up being worse without them? There is really no way to know.

Exactly ! That's why it's such a great marketing ploy. It relies on people being afraid of losing more hair quicker if they stop. Personally if I feel im not at least maintaing and losing more while on the meds, i'll shave it all off and call it a day. Hope it works though.

The shedding will likely last a few months if not several months. There have been people who didnt see any results until over a year later.

This all takes time and patience. People get too impatient and quit too early.

He's right you can't just expect these things to work overnight, if you are serious about treatment you need to give most hair loss regimens at least a year to fairly evaluate them.
