Hello,

Ive been on Finasteride/Minoxidil for 2 years now, and with great success. I succesfully grew hair on my temples when my hairloss started, and went from a norwood 2 to a norwood 1. Ive been very strict with my regimen and applied 1ml of minoxidil twice every day, and 1.25mg proscar.

My hair is thick and feels nice, until I started with accutane 1.5 month ago.

I started with the basic dose of 40mg per day, but decided to cut down to 10mg a day after like 2 weeks. Even though Im on such a low dose my hairline has receided quite a bit, almost back to the way it was 2 years ago before I started with my hairloss treatments.

One option would be to quit the Accutane immediately and continue with finasterde and minoxidil, but my acne is really bad and I feel like I need it aswell, but I value my hair more (And Ive been fighting for it for 2 years now, and dont feel like losing it all).

Anyone else experienced this before? I tried to google accutane and male pattern baldness-acceleration but didnt get that many answers. Some people claim that accutane can accelerate male pattern baldness, and some say that you only get diffuse hairloss from it...

Isn't there other alternative to Acutane? Though maybe not as viable, you've got to look out there!
Good for you though friend, I hope I can get back to a nw1 by getting on propecia.
Question though.
How long was it before you decided to take action and get on finasteride/min? Like how long were you a NW2 for?
And do you think you start yielding results from finasteride/minoxidil?

I could imagine the minoxidil gave that blonde fluff at the beginning but I presume that went and finasteride kicked it into true terminal hair?

Not for me there isn't, I've tried everything there is out there, been struggling with acne for like 10 years now. Accutane does help, alot, but my hairline gets destroyed in the process :/.

Not really sure, don't think it was that long really. But as soon as I jumped on the meds the small baby hair along the hairline started to grow to full hair.

Yeah maybe, hard to tell since I started with propecia and minoxidil at the same time.

Thinking about taking 2 10mg pills twice a week instead of daily now with the accutane. It might keep the acne at bay and still keep my hair together with finasteride >;.
