I am a healthy 67-year-old woman with a past history of seborrheic dermatitis. The dermatitis first occured about 2 years ago and went away in a few months, clearing in about March 2010. I incurred no hair loss. The dermatitis recurred the end of August 2011 accompanied by a lot of shedding. Areas of alopecia were discovered by my stylist during a haircut appointment in September. I now have about 6 areas of alopecia, with major thinning and shedding of hair. I have lost over half my hair. The shedding continues daily, with hair in the shower, in the sink, on my pillow, in my brush. It's devasting. I wear a wig in social situations but it's difficult to get used to wearing it. I feel some robbed, shamed, and I hate to look at myself. My husband is very supportive and loving.

I tried to find a support group in my area but there is none. I found this forum and am looking forward to hearing from others who are facing this horrible condition.
