April Update - Pix included [page 5] Temple Regrowth

Ive put this off for too long, :( Anyways I need to do something now. It has become very very thin and really starting to show now. I bought Rogaine extra strength 5% topical solution some time ago but never kept up using it and I would use for a week and then it would create little bumps and sores and some would become all infected and cause even more hair loss so I would stop and then use again which has been on and off and never used for more then 2 weeks at a time.

I am planning to go see my Dr, and whatever I need I will get. I searched but I feel loss and don't know where to start, can you guys please point me in the dirrection. I would like thicker hair and would like to regrow hair back if possible and possible the receding area as well.

Im 26 years of age and this started about 3 years ago.

i would say your best bet would be to join alot of us here and get on finasteride and minoxidil. the foam is easy to use and i've heard comments on it being less damaging to the scalp

Why are you so against people fighting male pattern baldness?

People need to know the truth. The only reason people wait so long and let their hair turn to crap aka NW3-4ish before they fight it is largely because they convince themselves its not as bad as it really is.

A 100% honest reality check and dutastride are the cornerstones to recovery. What about this do you not get?

I am tired of these "your hair looks great just use some vitiman B and Zinc and hair thickening shampoo" clowns who seem to have a boner for me.

Well, I wouldn´t call his hair "crap" but it is definetly time to start treatment. Get on Finasteride, Rogaine foam and Nizoral shampoo. Use these three for about one year and then come back and post your pics. Good Luck, mate!

Welcome to the board. It's great that you have finally decided to do something about it as it seems you would've been in real trouble a couple of years from now, start a solid regimen of finasteride, minoxidil and nizoral, stick to it come hell or high water and fingers crossed you should be pleasantly suprised by the summer. I look forward to tracking your progress.

try switching to 2% minoxidil if the 5% minoxidil is causing scalp problems for u...and use it continuosly...if ur scalp problem still persists try using some anti inflammatory treatments...good luck

ok, I did some searching cause I was having trouble finding finasteride/nizoral.

finasteride = Fincar/Proscar ( I will need a rx right)
nizoral = Nizoral (Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - 7 fl oz) over the counter

I have the 5% but I allways get irration so I im going to get the 2% or the foam.

nm I found it

is the 2% shampoo a prescription.. Should I just get the 1% OTC for now and when I go to the Doctor ask for the 2% and the finasteride.

Also about the minoxidil, I have the 5% but im looking to buy the 2%. I see the foam but it only comes in 5% but you guys think it is any different then the liquid one I have or should I just get the 2% version for now and then use the 5% later.

sorry for all these questions, but im getting a better understanding though.

Dont worry about the questions. Although everyone will tell you to make a search i know how lost one might feel with all these treatments.

First of all i strongly suggest you stick with the 5%. It is much more effective than the 2%. Go for the foam, and dont worry since usually the irritation goes away with time. It took about a month and a half for me, and i still get redness some days but it has eased A LOT in comparison with the first days.

Yes, you can get 1% nizoral OTC, it is said to be as effective as 2%, but if you have no probelm gettin a persctiption for 2% go for it.

Something that i say to everyone new in treatments, is to consider retin-a. You can find it in cream or liquid forms and different concentration. It helps minoxidil absorb better and is very good for hair regrowth alone. If you use the liquid, and you are lucky, you can find a premix solution.

Add 1mg of finasteride(propecia etc) to the mix and you got yourself the best hair loss treatment combination.

WorldofWarcraft you realize that you are a pain in the *** right? Nobody said he does not need treatments. Nobody said that his hair is perfect. You just confuse it with the other post of the 15 year old guy who had PERFECT hair, and you acted like he was a nw7. You realize that there are different posters, with different hair conditions, so we treat everyone different.

You would prescribe dutasteride to bob marley.

well I just got my prescription for the nizoral 2% and I ordered the 5% foam instead of using the liquid version even though I have two bottles here It creates too much redness and sores for me to the point where I have to discontinue. What it would do is creat redness and then sores and then the sores would get worse and all the hair on that sore would fall out.

I have Retin-A here, a few bottles of it still that I havent used for some time but they are all good. Where should I apply the retin-A, I was just going to apply to my face, should I apply to my receding hairline area as well.

Question about the minoxidil, When I apply do I just rub it all around the top area of my head and should I apply it too the the frontal area as well even though it says it does not help I have read that in some it has regrown hair in the receding hair line.

Go to http://www.inhousepharmacy.com and order some Dutas, aka dutastride and take one pill a day, everyday. This is by far more important than shampoos and stuff.

You should probably talk to your doctor before trying internals.

Im going to talk to my doctor about that in a couple weeks but right now I just started this

Ketoconazole Shampoo 2% I plan on using every 2-3 days
minoxidil 5% cut back to .5ml twice cause the liquid irrates me too much
>>I ordered the foam and waiting for it too come.
Retin-A I use daily on my face, ( should I apply this on my temples and head as well.

As for using proscar, ill wait and talk to my doctor, although im fearfull of shedding but I need to do something so this time im gonna stick to the minoxidil.

if i didn't have better things to do i would make a thread, linking all of your posts in which you tell people to take dutasteride, just so everyone realizes your as big of an idiot as i do.
