Buzzed my head...foam a good call?

I buzzed my head (finally!) and love it. will post a pic tomorrow when i download some pics.

My hairline is decent (in tact)...it's the top of my head and crown that has thinning.

Not interested in propecia (have my reasons), and up until now never gave rogaine foam a chance cuz didn't want it make it more difficult to style my thinning hair.

Now that it's buzzed i'm gonna give it a go. Not looking for miraculous transformation...but a few more stubbles on top of my head would be pretty sweet.

I'm Indian (asian) so I have a good tanned complexion which helps. Was gonna wait till summer so head wouldn't be lighter..but enough stubble makes it less off color than I anticipated.

Oh yeah, I feel amazing now that I buzzed it!

Firstly, I know how good a buzz can make you feel. It's empowering.

Secondly, foam is insanely easy to apply with short hair, especially after a shower when your head is hydrated, but your hair is dry. It gets absorbed into your head very quickly and doesn't leave your hair thick and sticky.

Thanks for the reply. I think i'll go out and get the foam today. Here's a pic of what my buzz looks like right now. I need to get a top view but it's pretty similar to the stubble u see in the front.

Is the side effect of sudden weight gain common? if that's the case than screw it...i do not want any weight gain similar to what I had with propecia.

Do you experience the same 'shedding' when ur hair is buzzed? I have pretty much leveled off with hair loss over the last 3 yrs...it's been the same. I don't want to lose the nice stubble that I currently have.

If you're happy with the buzz as is, maybe you should try Revivogen? It only requires once daily application and would be pretty easy to apply with hair that short.

I need to take a better pic as this one was from a cell phone and color is too bright.
Today is my first day at work with this buzz and have rec'd a bunch of compliments...that were genuine. Mostly 'man that looks good on you...ur lucky to be tanned with a nice shaped head!'.
As much as I enjoyed it over the wknd I was curious to what my co workers were going to say...now that's behind me I really enjoy it.

Also, now I can do my cardio w/o during lunch (gym inside my work) cuz i don't have to worry about fixing my thinning hair! and after work i can lift weights. This is so refreshing!!!!

I don't know about the weight gain. As far as I know, side effects from minoxidil are rare. Unless you're drinking the stuff, there's no need to worry.

And yes, you are going to shed. It will happen in the first couple months, at 6-7 months, and likely later down the road. But shedding is good, you were going to lose those hairs anyway, but now the minoxidil is going to make them come back stronger.

I have been on the Rogaine Foam a week, applying it once each night after a shower. Twice I have done the Retin-A Micro 0.1% first.....

I swear my hair has thickened....I know that's impossible?, but seriously, I don't think I will have that Rogaine Shed problem....I think I have survived through the Avodart shed now that I am in month 6 of that.

as for the shedding?...the stubble i have now doesn't look like it's going anywhere...it's been like that for over 3 years alone..and prior to that i was taking propecia for nearly 8 yrs. possible the propecia caused all the shedding i was supposed to experience?

also, does the foam make ur scalp shiny at all?
