I have a receding hair line and thinning hair in the middle of my head but after that its kinda thick. Because I'm paranoid (I lost A LOT of hair in only 6 months; i used to have very thick hair only a few years ago) I have been putting rogane in the thicker hair area out of fear it'll thin out. So will me putting rogaine prevent any future hair loss in that area?

If you are a good responder, this "anticipation" could be beneficial from a logical point of view. However I have no notion of studies showing that minoxidil can be used as a "vaccine".
How is it working on your hairline?

minoxidil will give you regrowth, but it does nothing to stop the underlying cause of hairloss, meaning after a while your hair loss will continue once again. If you want a permanent stop to hairloss + regrowth, you need to use rogaine/minoxidil in addition to finasteride

Alan8, your best option is to get on Finasteride, it will help slow/stop Male Pattern Baldness quite effectively if you're a good respondent. Might as well stay on Minoxidil at this point if it's noticeably been helping your hair.
Havent noticed any change. But it isnt noticeable if i comb my hair in a certain way.
