Chewing Propecia... better results?

Has anyone tried chewing tablets before?

I took Propecia for 6 months (swallowing) and saw ZERO results. I'm not talking just about no re-growth, but I was losing hair at the same or worse pace than before.

I have now chewed my tablet for about 1.5 weeks and the hair loss has decreased tremendously.

Coincidence? Possible reason (maybe the pill wasn't absorbing when swallowed)? Is it possible that it just has taken 7 months for the propecia to even start to HALT hair loss??

I think ALL drugs, foods, and nutritional supplements should be chewed-up prior to swallowing, unless there's a really damn-good reason to swallow them whole (the only reason I can think of to swallow them whole would be if they're "time-release"). Always tell your doctor about doing that with any drug he prescribes to you, and get his okay first.

I seriously doubt that the situation you describe with your Propecia is a result of chewing it up, but KEEP DOING THAT, just for general principles.

I have to ask...how the hell do you guys chew up pills that taste like total sh*t on a daily basis, when its so easy just to swallow them whole?

If you body can digest complex carbs, but not a finasteride tablet....then you're having issues larger than hairloss. finasteride can take up to 8-10 months to take full effect, so I suspect that's what happened.

However, if you feel like chewing it, then go ahead with it. I doubt that chewing it will lessen the effectiveness of it.
