Hi guys
I have been using chondroitin sulfate as a supplememt for a few months and my hair is growing fast and even a few thin spots have filled in - no other changes in my regimen otherwise

This paper seems to support this effect

I sprained my ankle and bruised up my knee pretty bad 2 weeks ago and purchased a supplement that has Chondroitin in it as well as MSM and Glucosamine to help with the healing. I never opened the box until I seen your post. All 3 of these have anti-inflammatory effects. I have a two month supply so I'll see how it goes and switch to using just chondroitin if needed.

What is your dosage?

Have you noticed your beard/body hair growing faster?

How about your eyebrows, any thicker?

How long did it take to notice results?

Is it simply hair growing faster, and spots filling in, or do you notice any difference in the thickness?

I take MSM and I'm sure it makes my hair and nails grow faster, but nothing else, so it seems kind of pointless, although I keep it up anyways based on the 100s of anecdotal reports I've read, and for it's other benefits.

Chondroiton Sulphate is usually associated with helping stimulate cartlidge in knees, e.g.
it has some benefit.
Since I’m a supplement nut I’ve tried that before. Had a whole bottle of MSM which I just threw into a blender of fruit juice to get rid of.. Bitter taste.. But never noticed positive hair growing effects. Perhaps a topical with Chondroiton Sulphate might do something.
For the supplement nuts out there. This week I tried 2 new ones & I think something is happening.
1) Orgono Living Silica. I got a tip on this one from a New Age guy I follow. He had a write up so I ordered it. I immediately noticed energy after first swig. It’s also good for hair.
Okay even rubbed some on scalp.
2) Reishi Mushroom powder. I take some anti androgen pills which eliminate adult acne among lowering DHT. And I discovered they really work especially after eating chocolate. So I reread the label and it said it had some enzymes in the herbs, but wouldn’t name the herbs. So I started researching and Reishi mushroom is by far the strongest mushroom which has this enzyme to block DHT. So I order the strongest Reishi powder.
After a week, I swear my hair is getting thicker.
So my body must produce naturally too much destructive DHT for my hair strength & by internally & topically counteracting it produces benefits.

There are some people in internet that report having hair loss after taking chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine sulfate so i am a bit skeptical about this suggestion?

Could you tell us which Reishi Power you are using? I am taking pills as well but think the daily dose is not high enough,

I take 4 grams of chondroitin sulfate per day, that's quite a high dosage but I will decrease to 2 grams per day after 3 months

I used the same dosage last year around the same time and also Noticed the same effect after a while

I also improved my hearing

I also take msm 4 grams a day and biotin 5mg but I have been taking those 2 a lot longer than chondroitin sulfate
I believe all these 3 supplements work in synergy

4 grams is a lot, most supplements have 500-600mg a dose. Did you find a really powerful supplement or just use a lot of pills everyday?

I've been taken Flex from Animal for a couple of years now. And it did nothing for my hair, to my knowledge.
But it is hard to see what the dose is, since it's a 3gr blend of MSM,HCL,CSA and CSC

I want to add to this!! There are studies which show the efficacy of proteoglycan topical treatment to promote hair growth, especially against cortisol-induced hair look. I have very high cortisol which is why I went looking for studies and found some which detail how proteoglycans are A: essential for hair growth, 2: a potential treatment for alopecia. So your post is very Intriguing!

dear @el_duterino, in your experience, when do you think the CB price will go down?
it's now around $66 / gram and I think it was more expensive before but we urgently need it to go down
to reach at least 5% twice a day.
thanks a lot!

Hey I noticed your Vit D sig. I recently had a blood test that showed Vit D deficiency. A doctor recommended 3000-5000 IU/day. I've been taking 3000-4000 IU the past few months and don't notice any hair growth or reduction in shedding. How many IU/day do you take and how long did it take to see results?

I take 3000 ui and the "first wave" of results was noticeable at 6 weeks, with an increase of density in donor areas, and reduction of overall shedding.
but later, my 88 year old father started to grow a beard out all of sudden after his physician prescribed him iron + b12.
so, I added b12+iron and pum!! at 2 months, the same hair caliber I had at 16 except in the Androgenetic Alopecia affected areas (norwood 2). I was deficient in all those three.

later I added biotin and my nails morphed from having vertical ridges to completely smooth.
same in my feet but slower. currently waiting for right foot little toe to normalize.

I've had intermittent heavy, heavy shedding since 18 and this was the reason the whole time. unbelieavable.

hair has started to grow thicker and longer in eyebrows, moustache, pubic area, eyelashes longer, forearms.

still a progress, since now I can somehow cover the temples much much better. I still have patterned Androgenetic Alopecia, though, but for diffusers it gives hope.

I recommend to add iron b12 and biotin.

I've definitely been taking Vit D for over 6 weeks. Looks like it's just not working for me. What brand do you buy? Also, what dosages of iron, b12 and biotin do you take?

vit D: Peruvian brand
iron : ferrous sulphate 150mg 3x/week
b12: 250mcg daily
biotin: 300mcg daily
zinc: 30mg daily

in my case I've suffered from thin sparse body hair my whole adult life so it made a really dramatic change (and induced a beard in my father)
if your body hair is thick, let's say the eyebrows (which are androgen-insensitive) then you probably don't have severe vitamin deficiency like me. my nails had a lot of vertical ridges as well.
you could give it a try for 4 months
