Considering treatment but may be beyond help

I'm 27 and started losing hair when I was 17. Since I was 19 I have been shaving my head as I embraced my baldness (it was either that or be in denial) and thankfully I look rather good with a shaved head. Since I shave my head 2-3 times a week I never bothered to check how advanced my hair loss is. However, I didn't shave for 10 days, as an experiment, and my hair loss is pretty advanced NW6 at least. But this is where it gets interesting, its is clear that I have lots of extremely fine, very short hairs all over the top of my head and at my receded temples along with the odd thicker hair. What I want advice on is if it is worth taking finasteride or something in the hope that these thin hairs turn back into the proper thing? I am happy the way I am but like most (if not all) bald men given the chance to have my hair back I would. So anybody think it is worth it?

youve got nothing to lose. you wont get back to a norwood one but may
be able to recover some ground with finasteride and minoxidil but its certainly not a given that the fine hairs will thicken up. i think it depends
what you think will look better - some hair with recession or a shaved
head. if you like the shaved look then maybe stick with it but...its upto
you really.

Well I've decided I'll try finasteride at first. Would using minoxidil straight away help, or should I wait until if I see any results from the finasteride? I have fairly greasy skin (but no acne) so would the finasteride or minoxidil affect this one way or the other? I know minoxidil can cause dry scalp. Any thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

if youre wanting significant regrowth youre gonna need minoxidil.
either the foam or spectral dnc are the best and both are non greasy
so shouldnt cause you any problems.
