I would recommend Tricomin or Folligen. Both help combat sides from minoxidil, by calming the scalp, stopping irritation and speeding up the hair cycle, so there is more hair on your scalp at any given time.

In addition, they improve the condition of the hair and widen the follicles, which will allow minoxidil to penetrate your scalp and work more effectively.

The shampoo is uneccessary, but the leave in spray is a useful tool to have along side minoxidil.

Also don't worry about sides from nizoral. The reason most people get sides, is because despite the label saying "3months supply" they use up the whole bottle in about 2 weeks. Furthermore, the instructions state VERY CLEARLY that after 4 weeks of using nizoral you should only use it once every 1-2weeks thereafter. Therefore all the people on this forum who use nizoral 3 to 4 times a week every week are obviously going to f*ck up their hair.

If you use a very small amount, ONLY twice a week it will do your hair a lot of good!

I've been using it for 3weeks now and no shedding. The most noticeable effect is that it's made my hair a lot thicker and healthier.

Either that or Folligen would be a good conditioning treatment before you start minoxidil.

Also don't be so scared of the minoxidil shed. Anybody who sees significant gains from Minoxidil has to endure a period of shedding. I can't speak about its effects on the vertex, but on the hairline it has shown some very promising progress for me. After 5 weeks of minoxidil I went from a NW3 to 3.5, and yes it was a bit alarming, but now I'm at the 10week stage and the peachfuzz hair is going terminal.

The early signs suggest I could be a NW2 given another 6months because new hair around my temples is growing back along with the hair which shedded from my existing hairline. I'm not getting carried away here, merely pointing out that if you want hairline regrowth, Minoxidil is your best bet!

i just received my order of the folligen spray.

is it ok to spray on 30-60mins before sleeping and leave it on overnight? it won't mess up my scalp if i leave it overnight?

and should i apply it after washing hair or wait til it's dry?

I use tricomin and as for the spray if I use it at night I will either take a shower or wet my head and just leave it in. Usually dries as fast as water.
