Counting the number of hairs this morning...

52... simply this morning.

Simply shampooing and brushing the dandruff out of my hair when it was dry revealed 52 hairs... and those were the one's counted. For the sake of keeping my panic down, there had to be more, and I did not count them.

Although, having revealed all 52 of these hairs from the male pattern baldness areas of my scalp, I decided to compare this to the amount of hairs shed from the sides of my head...

Rubbing the sides, back, and nape of the neck revealed ZERO hairs.

An interesting point, but to digress.

I have merely a question, and ask for your opinion.

Is 52+ hairs a day normal from the male pattern baldness hairs?

In times of greater shedding, I had lost 200-300 hairs daily.

I generally have hairfall much less than this... around 20-30 hairs daily.

What is everyone's take on this?

Thank you.

Sharing my personal experience.
Daily I shed from 15 to 35 hairs, but when I wash my hair, which is twice a week and after combing it I think I shed close to 150-180, not sure if it's normal.. during early spring to mid summer I was shedding a lot, probably close to 300 or more after washing my hair, I had hair on the bathtub, I would get 7 to 10 hairs at once when running my fingers trough my hair and even more hair when styling/combing, it was scary and depressing.. now I'm positive that my shedding has slowed down but I don't count the exact number of hairs shed and I also changed the way I style my hair.

I'm not sure but overall since I started shedding too much during those months my hair unfortunately got less dense, I think I need some more months to see if it's getting denser again but right now it doesn't seem to and I'm only counting on a better diet with supps, a scalp exercise(not sure if you heard about it) and nizoral.

How long has this been happening? I often go through phases of losing more hairs than other times also. Are all the hairs miniturized? Have you changed anything in your lifestyle that would prompt you to lose more hairs?

All the hairs are the same size as they were...

I'm under doctor's orders to lose some weight. High blood pressure, too.

So I've lost about 10-15 lbs within the last few weeks.

Is that bad for the hair?

People on this forum have indicated that certain lifestyle changes could potentially induce hairloss. I can't say so myself but its just a thought. Ask your physician. Best wishes to your health.

Yeah, I know shouldn't count hairs...

but this morning, I was just so damn shocked to find over at least 40+ hairs... I didn't even shampoo. I just ran a soap bar over my forehead, and bam... The soap bar went dark with hair...

I admit, I've been styling my hair a bit hard the last few days, but to get 40 hairs in my morning routine is pretty tough on me.

Thanks buddy, that was the comment I needed to hear. I appreciate the encouragement.

Is there anyone else who sheds this much but maintains or improves?
