I started finasteride a week ago with hopes to maintain until something better comes out. Has any new treatments in the horizon mentioned being able to replace this powerful drug? It scares me to be taking it to be honest and I would love to not be able to take it when something else comes out! I don't know if this is in right section sorry about that :p

To clarify I know about the new treatments but lets say I have been taking finasteride and do replicel / histogen. Any information if I stop taking finasteride I will lose what was maintained? That's going to be scary to stop taking something due to a new treatment and then losing everything haha

I'm predicting that CB will replace finasteride, and that replicel will serve as a partial antiandrogen if it works.

There's no saying that if you get replicel or histogen you can stop using finasteride? Aren't they suppose to stop future loss ? So if they stopped future loss you wouldn't be able to quit finasteride? It would make sense that finatseride would slow until future treament needed but i wonder if you would be able to quit it.

Yeah I think we are all wondering this. CB is like 5 or 6 years away so I mean thats a pretty long wait. Its been about 20 or 25 years since propecia came out so I wouldnt hold my breadth for it to be replaced anytime soon. Going to be years minimum for waiting.

If the stimulant is strong enough, you might not need an antiandrogen at all. Some people maintain fine off of minoxidil, and Histogen is like minoxidil in that it's a growth stimulant, so I don't know if you'll be able to quit finasteride or not, none of us do. I bring up replicel and CB specifically because they both desensitise/antagonize androgens, which is a function analogous to finasteride. I do think CB will replace finasteride when it hits (as a drug option) and maybe replicel if they can: 1) find/multiply hairs that are almost entirely DHT resistant, and 2) show it works the way they want it to.

Histogen will replace finasteride, its effects last for one hair cycle both stimulating growth and temporarily stopping the damage from DHT. in trials the participants kept the hair they grew with histogen without finasteride for a hair cycle.

Also if replicel is successful with RCH-01 (which is looking very good right now) it will be a permanent replacement for finasteride.

No, nothing is seriously considered as a replacement for finasteride.

i think u have forgotten the 6 months' data of replicel. They made it clear in bold letters that their product achieved same increase in density at six month's mark which the Finasteride attained in 12 months.
so it is very logical to believe that we have a replacement for Finasteride.

Replicel RCH-01 is soon beginning a 39 month trial.

Time of release ... 2021?

Shiseido have had some pretty crappy products in the past. Adenogen kinda sucked.
