Curly hair- can I start with a stock system

Hey guys, I am considering to try a hair system. I wanted to get a stock piece for the start. I have some waves though.
I dont know what they do to get the curls into the system. Could my hairdresser just do the same? or is it realistic to shorten the side hair to a length where you wouldnt see the curls (no skin fade, just shorter hair).
I would really like to try one before I place an order that will take months to process.

You can curl a stock system, your supplier can order it curled, it's not the same as a curled custom system. A salon can do it, but they need to be careful as the hair is super treated, and can easily be fried if not done correctly.
