Yeah, it's all good for receders who are nw2-3 with THICK density all over, they can just rock combover game like Jude Law did for years, but here's the thing, once it goes beyond nw3 and CRUCIALLY as mentioned above, as the forelock begins to diffuse out (which mark my words it will, once you begin to move through nw3) you are forced to cut it short and expose your full Norwood status, or else walk around with a laughable wispy, tumbleweed fringe on your head, which absolutely fools no one anymore and will only attract mockery and laughter from nw1s and looks of disgust and revulsion from women... no thanks.
Also bear in mind nw3+ hairline takes away all your frame and face ratio, if you already had a naturally bad looking headshape to begin with and a large, protruding forehead and you don't have a concrete sized jaw like Statham, then you will be double f**ked by an aggressive receding hairline, like a Somali dude, only the Caucasion version! lol
It will completely f**k up your aesthetic facial ratio, which by default makes you uglier and your face more visually jarring to everyone.
I agree diffusers go through a lot more actual hair loss at an earlier stage which is a lot more psychologically damaging than a receding hairline, but provided you have a nw2.5 hairline and buzz your hair short with a bit of concealer, most non sufferers will be unaware you even have male pattern baldness at all.
However for a receder, once you go nw3.5 onwards there is no more disguising that hairloss, doesn't matter how much density you might have at the back, people aren't stupid and when they see that disintegrating nw3.5+ hairline they will judge you as GOING BALD or GOING TO BE BALD IN A FEW YEARS, either way you look it, receders nw3.5 onwards are deemed 2nd class citizens from that point onwards, just like every other legit bald/balding guy out there.... Except those high density nw2/3s of course, who can disguise themselves as full heads.
