A couple of days ago I was checking just to make sure everything felt normal and I felt a lump under the right nipple that's shaped like a small flat lima bean. I'm thinkin that Propecia may be the culprit. It's not sensitive to the touch but there's definitely something there that wasn't there before. I did steroids about 10 years ago and got gyno on the left side. It wasn't bad and actually went away on it's own after I stoppped the juice. So I was kind of expecting that if it did happen, it would have been the left side again. Needless to say this was pretty shocking and depressing.

I feel that I'm having really good results with Propecia and I really don't want to stop using it...I don't think I could handle that kind of depression again. So I'll be making a call the the Doctor tomorrow and see if I can get it checked out...I'm trying to read up on Nolvadex now to see if I can take it with finasteride. So if any of you know about this stuff, let me know or point me in the right direction. Lowered libido, watery ejaculate I could have lived with....But Gyno.....damn it. I thought I was doing so good...This really hit me hard.

JUST WANTED TO ADD: To any newbies out there, try not to let my situation scare you from using finasteride. This is probably the the most unlikely side-effect associated with finasteride and is probably very rare.

Yup, I think I have it too.... for the past month..... It's getting little worse, but also I've been putting on fat, so It's hard to tell for sure. I'm going to go to the Doctor eventually to get it checked out, in the mean time I decided my hair is more important then gyno. Please let me know how it goes....... thx.....

I have been thinking about this issue lately even though I haven´t noticed anything - still early on finasteride.

However if it does develop but my hair gets back to normal would I discontinue finasteride or would I have plastic surgery?

Though call!

hmmm situps make your pecs bigger...That's a new one

Nesta,

Yea it's definitly a tough call. I'm going to see what the Doctor has to say about it. There are drugs for gyno so that might be the alternative. I'm really hopin it doesn't get any worse and that I'm catching it in the beginning stages. It's not even remotely noticeable to the eye. Maybe I'll start cuttin my Propecia dose in half. But I really want to see what my Doctor says first....What ever it is I hope it's not too expensive being that I'm out of work right now with no insurance.

I read that in gyno your breast gets softer.

I just decided this morning that I might have it too. It might just be body fat since my beer gut has grown a little the past year. My peck muscles are fairly large and add a little fat on top of that makes them look larger than they should. I don't know. Thinking about that blood test I read about here and getting depressed.

Been on finasteride for 2.5 years.

Feel around to see if there is any hard tissue. That'll tell ya if it's gyno. You may just have excess body fat there.

I just squeezed/felt and don't feel anything hard. Maybe it's just fat, and I should lay off the beer!

I'd hate giving up finasteride, because know I'd be bald in no time.

Probably just fat. I had that "puffy" nipple effect - really not that noticeable - and when I really got in shape, it went away.

At 42 years old, my body is probably naturally changing a little bit on me even though I feel 25.

You WILL know if your getting gyno. There is itching, burning and there is a definate hard lump under the nipple.

Is that true with all gyno?

I definitely have a lump on the right side (size and shape of a small lima bean) but it's not itching or burning or sensitive. I know for a fact that it wasn't there before.

Over the last two days I have noticed the left nip is a little more sensitive but there's no lump...Maybe it's from me being paranoid and constantly checking it. At least that's what I've been telling myself. If it persists over the next week I gotta get it checked out.

See a doctor now. Don't wait.

If it is something bad you want to take care of it ASAP.

If you wait to long for some things, it's really too late.

No crap. You think going bald sucks, try getting body parts removed
because they are inflammed with cancer. :freaked2:

I've seen cancer up close twice...My mother had it and just recently my girlfriend with whom I've been living with for the past 5 years had it. Both of them kicked it's *** and are healthy now. So your preaching to the quire my friend. I'm well aware of getting treatment early. One week ain't going make a difference. Chances are the docs gonna tell me to come back in a week anyway to see if there's been any change. Thanks for your concern

weight gain on propecia

I've been on Propecia for 6 months and i've gained 12 pounds!

I went from 153 to 165 in 6 months. The only thing I did different was take 1.mg of propecia a day. I thought I was just putting on some weight.
So I eat less and worked out more..same weight more cardio but i still weighed the same....I feel and look bloated I.E puffiness in chest, butt, gut and face.... This is what happens when estrogen is too high.

I've been off propecia for three days and I started taking anti-estrogen capsules I got from GNC called 6-OXO (http://www.ergopharm.net) i'm only taking them for a month and I'm done with all this sh*t...I'll get back to you in a month with a report

as far as my hair growth goes, I didn't see any real deference, I did shed a lot though but I always did???

anything related to gyno???

since I've stopped drinking beer and watching what I've been eating (about 2 weeks) I've lost 5 pounds with no exercise so I don't think I'm getting bloated from too much Estrogen. BTW I'm 6 foot tall and with the 5 lbs gone I'm at 202.
My results from Propecia have been amazing in the vertex and so-so in the front. I'm definitely not losing as much as I used to, not even close. So I'm going to try and stay on the finasteride as long as I can or until a Doctor tells me otherwise.
I'll definitely let you guys know what's up. There really isn't that much detailed info about finasteride and gyno. Even searching for info on gyno has proved to be a challenge. There's a site called gynecomastia.org that doesn't even have too much info on the subject.

be careful with that 6-oxo. Their "study" looks pretty rediculous...2 whole test subjects. If their claims are even remotely true it sounds 1000 times more dangerous than finasteride.

weight gain

BHD..not a hard case of gyno just exaggerated chest in gen, looks and feels like soft bulk. my small t- shirts don't fit right anymore

I can only say this, i'm 34 and have been 153lb since roughly 25, I'm 5'10' and really aware of my body, I can tell when i put on even a little weight... So after all those years of maintaining I gain two pounds a month reaching 165 lbs??? i've never weighed that much in my entire life.. I didn't change a thing in my routine, I workout hard as hell, lots of cardio with med-light weights ..many reps four time a week for 1 1/2 each time, i'm literately drenched in sweat when I get out of the gym. The only thing that I changed was taking propecia once a day..not only that but I also feel crampy muscles and joints ,fatigued, a "heavy" feeling, bloated face etc.. ..no sh*t

anyway i'm done with propecia.. thanks for the advice about 6-OXO I was thinking the same thing, the GNC guy says its the best..thats all I have to go on right now..i'm only doing it for a month anyway..i'll let you know what happens
