Day 2 Of Propecia: Feeling Foggy And Erectile Dysfunction

I was cheerful and starry-eyed when I started finasteride 1mg two days ago. Already, I feel a kind of mental fogginess (like feeling a step removed), trouble concentrating on studying and emotionally flat. Already, I have less pleasurable feeling in my penis and I have trouble getting fully hard, and when I finally manage my ejaculation feels different (I have NEVER had these problems before). This is very creepy and I'm disappointed. I guess that's it for me, I'm throwing in the towel. Since I've only taken two doses, I'm hoping these side effects will go away in a matter of a few days? Please help.

It's probably in your head.
This is a pretty pointless contribution. Not in my head, except for the fog of course, but thanks. Penis feels more numb, not quite as excitable (more like sensation of touching an elbow or arm rather than sexually aroused), and could not get fully erect. Felt like arousal was hitting a wall and couldn't go past it to get fully hard. When you notice that for the first time and not expecting it, all bets are off. And I'm studying for exams, I know when my mentation and concentration is foggy. Would have appreciated a more helpful response.

If I were you I’d give it a couple weeks to a month and see if it subsides.
Thank you for your input. Do you think continuing for weeks to months might make these sides more permanent? It makes sense to me to stop right when I first notice it. They are pretty disconcerting sides that are very noticeable. I was hoping (more than anything) that some of the stuff I heard about propecia was not true, but not much I can do when I personally experience it. We are all wired differently and some of us will get these sides while others won't. I just don't want them to be permanent, so I figure I should quit while it's early.

Thanks for your input. The fogginess is bad, because I'm studying for board exams, but the scariest thing was the erectile dysfunction today. Penis feels more numb, not quite as excitable (more like sensation of touching an elbow or arm rather than sexually aroused), and could not get fully erect. Felt like arousal was hitting a wall and couldn't go past it to get fully hard. Did you experience this on dutas? That would be my biggest reason to stop after just 2 days.

I don’t believe that there at permanent sides unless you aren’t on it for a long time. And then I still feel as though not very unlikely you get permanent sides.

I’ve been on a bunch of sh*t and haven’t had any sides. Crazy you’ve been on it for several days and feel it.
I see, yeah I've heard and read many studies about people with persistent/permanent sides like mine resulting in petitions and lawsuits, so I just want to make sure I stop before I join their ranks. And yeah it is crazy, I guess we are all wired differently. I am extremely hairy at age 28 (like an ape, I'm middle eastern), so clearly my tissues have a different sensitivity for DHT than other people which my explain why I'm feeling this way on day 2.

Okay, it's all real. Hope that helps.

your a hypochondriac who nocebo’d himself by lurking on these forums and then taking a drug, and now your experiencing brain fog. bro either take the drug or don’t. no one here is ever gonna have any answer for you for hair loss other then “go in finasteride and min” and i one is ever gonna have a solution to “sides” other then “stop taking it”. it’s been two days. even if you experiment sides , which i doubt you are, they most likely will subside. when i first hopped on finasteride i thought i had a lower libido / couldnt get fully hard. it’s from thinking your on a pill that’s gonna do that. when in the past have you ever thought about your boner or was worried about it not working , pre finasteride? exactly. your bugging yourself out. if on the 2% chance (literally 2%) you are getting sides, they usually subside as your body adjusts to the higher test and lower dht. chill out. you decided to take the pill so either take it and move on or stop taking it... literally your only two options

"Bad inventor" disliked when I said it's in this guy's head, and disliked when I said it's real. I guess you can't please some people no matter what.

Lmao, mate i just read a comment of yours on reddit in which you say that you would accept a lot of sides for hair.. There is no point in your arguments or conclusions, people that ask about sides and stuff are usually normal people that seek for normal advice and the answers they get from people like you who would risk their life and health over hair are not relevant in this discussions...

If you are already having those sides, then you have a few choices:
1) Quit all together (but you will never know if the sides would eventually subside)
2) Cut the pill in half and take that for a few weeks, and note the sides
3) Continue no matter what for 2 months, then if you still have the sides, quit

Take.5 and build your way up to a full dose but stick with it, you will eventually get by it and then you'll enjoy thicker healthier hair.....

Sometimes there has been less sensation but I have never had any problem getting or maintaining an erection, I'm chemically castrated so I don't know if dutas has anything to do with it.

People who ask about potential side effects indeed are normal people with legit concerns, mate. People who think they get sides after two pills are probably imagining things.

Exactly as you said, "probably" but you can't actually know and neither do i because we don't actually know them in real life... We don't know them, their bodies, their history, their medical history, how they were before and after those 2 pills.. I recently saw a podcast with a doctor talking about Finasteride and one of the questions was if you can actually develop sides after taking only 1 pill.. And he said it clearly and loudly that YES, you actually can and that the pills actually travels differently in the body, not as people think, it can take a couple of weeks actually for the body to fully get it out of every tissue on where it traveled, differently from the blood where it depletes more faster... It's more complicated that people actually think and he also said that there can be a few people in this world that could take a pill and disrupt their whole hormonal system for life, or at least for a big period of time... Why ? Nobody knows exactly, but it's possible and it sucks because there is no way in knowing who will get sides, when or for how long they would persist or if they will be permanent...
So for us, it's easy to sit in front of a computer and read somebody's story, that somebody that we don't know sh*t about, and just assume that "it's just in his head", without knowing sh*t about him or about his life and fast assuming that he is an hypochondriac, like all the ones that are reporting sides seem to be in others eyes that don't get sides or that don't want to accept that the pill they are taking can do such a thing...

So don't take it.

So don't take it.

Well i'm not, but as every other individual that does not have any other choice, many others struggle in taking this decision and it's sad that we can't at least know who or how or when or if... I was just discussing normally nobody said nothing about the decision of taking it or not...
I saw a guy on this forum a while ago who had some incredible results with it after only 8 months... Full regrowth it was so unbelievable to think that he got from where he was to a full head of hair in 8 months, but he dropped it because he could no function normally not even one day, and it started with some little sides to a point on where he said he could not function anymore.. That was the point where i realized that he would not have a reason to not stick with it if something really bad did not happen, i mean he got a f*****g full head of hair.. And he deleted his post because people started blaming him because he dropped it and telling him that "it's just in his head".... Or that Somebody guy for example who has a nice pair of titties from it and does not want to admit it even if he posted pics that he recently deleted because people told him that it's not fat like he thinks it is and that it's actually full grown gyno... But you know how it is, people have different mindsets and a lot are willing to accept a lot of things just like you said...
I would take it, i got it prescribed but i'm sure that 90% of people get sides, maybe even more, maybe some with time, maybe some don't want to admit them and some just accept them, but i'm sure that most get them and that's that... Me personally i'm not willing to take that risk, i'm a pussy maybe or however you want to call me but in the end, it's my decision and i'm not blaming others who are willing to take the risks...

Try a lower dose at first .025 . Give it a couple of weeks . If it doesn't go away stop. It will take about 2 months and the sides will go away. It did for me after 3 tries . Good luck
