Ever since ive been losing my hair and on finasteride i have been depressed (can't be finasteride cuz the depression got a little betteer when i found out there was a pill to help). I have been on it for 7.5 months and still shedding. Anyyway, i know im a pessimist, so in all my anxiety and feeliing down im still convinving myseld this should work. Anywho my question is do you think that being depressed could make your hair condition worse or accelerate male pattern baldness? I've heard of links between the two
I am also 21 years and and still can't grow a beard. If Dhtcauses beard growth, and i don't have a beard, why is my hair falling out?

Why me?

Hey man I am also new to this forum and very depressed over hairloss.

From my take on it no matter how you feel if your hair is going to leave you it will happen no matter how you feel.

I was happy all my life and that didnt help me keep a full head of hair. So now I am just hoping/praying their will be a cure soon and none of us will have to live like this.

Hey Iverdala21,

The fact that you cant grow a beard doesnt mean your body isnt producing DHT. It is an essential hormone that comes into play in our teen years. Perhaps your hairs are just very sensitive to its damaging process and the amount that is getting through is taking its course. Do you have any family history of hair loss...

Also, try to relax a bit man, being depressed isnt going to help you any.

Take care,
Tony

Yes, hairloss runs around in my family like a rottweiler thats been teased for 7 years then let out of its cage. My Grandfather on my mom's side is bald at 20 and all his sons. So i know its male pattern baldness. It just scared the sh*t out of me when i read that Dht causes beard growth along with hairloss, and i cannot grow a beard, so i got scared that finasteride could really f*** me up or maybe that my hairloss wasnt Dht related. Not being able to grow a beard sux, especially when you're losing your hair

awww, i really feel bad for you guys. i can relate to your problem all too well. i remember when i was 21 my hair was falling out too. i spent many years of my life miserable & depressed over it & i wish i could have those years back. i'm 41 now & i had 5 transplant procedures & i'm still sort of depressed about my hair. i always had very thick, shiney hair & all of a sudden, it was gone. in 1990 i was slick bald on top! the transplants gave me some hair back, but it will never be the same as before. i will post some pics here of before & after the surgery. i look o.k. now, but i would give anything to get all of my hair back. there is exiting news as far as hair multiplication goes, but i'm sure when it comes to market, it will cost a king's ransom & most of us could not afford the procedure. i have no faith at all in any method of growing your hair back other than surgery. if i can give any of you younger guys advice it would be to just save your money & get the surgery when you can. i would not throw any money away on drugs, or any other garbage being sold on the internet claiming to re-grow hair. they are all scams! don't make these con men & thugs rich off our desperation. these people should be behind bars as far as i'm concerned. i used rogaine for years with no results. i never tried the propecia pills being sold now because i already had the surgery. hair loss is in your genes & your hair is "programmed" to do what it's going to do no matter what kind of drug your on. the drugs have to be used for a lifetime if you are lucky to have even the most meager results & want to keep them. if you stop using the drugs, then any hair grown as a result of using them will be lost. the way i looked at it, i took a loan out for surgery & paid it off & now i have permenant results that will last a lifetime & i won't have to keep dishing out cash for ongoing drug treatments, however i might have some more additional transplants in the near future to thicken up what i have now if i get some extra cash, & i'll never lose the transplanted hair. it will be a one time cost with permanent results...

Diabetes is also in your genes - would you advice people not to accept a lifelong drug application?

Hairloss is due to DHT take that away from the follicles and you will be fine. You can´t take away 100% but if you take away 50% then you´re hair will stay in place that much longer.

Revivogen, spironolactone (hopefully) but most of all finasteride does take away alot of DHT from your system. Regrowth is something totally else and I agree that NO drug today will restore a dead follicle.

Just a word of caution about hairtransplants: If infact they are using the DHT secure hair in the back of your neck and on the sides to harvest stemcells then consider what happens if you go for a hair transplant today instead of waiting.

My regimen is minimally expensice ($300 annually) and it actually works. I harbor no delusions that it will keep up forever.

diabetes is life threatening, hair loss is not even though it SUCKS! but understand, when my hair started to fall out, the only thing available was 2% rogaine which did nothing for me. the vast majority of my top hair was gone when i elected to go for the surgery. if my hair just started to fall out now, then i would try the propecia pills which seem to be somewhat effective today. anyway, now i have a permanent solution to my problem which requires no maintenance other than cutting! the bottom line is my hair loss pattern was pretty much set in when i started the surgery. there was no more hair to lose on top so what did i have to lose? i fell for a lot of garbage & spent a lot of money on bogus treatments. i probably could get another procedure done with that money i spent!

i am blinky, that was clearly discovered by Tynan W earlier in this post, o by the way,
YES! Vin Diesel is in fact gay!! He kept his homosexuality (which makes him lucky) but he is a flamer in the back and on the top, middle of his head. This is why he keeps it shaved really close. There are pics where you can tell that he doesn't have a shadow in these ares. For the movies though, Hollywood puts a fake shadow on his head in these areas. (Just goes to show you how anti-homosexual Holllywood is). Take a look. . . (See when chicks say they don't find queer guys attractive, Vin Diesel is great to break up to counter this)
