Note: I also posted this on the surgical message board, but not as many people read that board.

a little background, i'm 25 diffuse thinner all over the top of my head that is very noticeable in any light....

i'm just thinking down the road in two years when the diffuse gets unbearable, do certain surgeons do hair transplants for diffuse thinners?? can someone give me more information or websites on hair transplants for diffuse thinners?

by the way i am on propecia and minoxidil....

thanks in advance for any information.

Well its good that your seeking more information on something so serious.

In 2 years time you probobly wont even need to have a transplant. There are going to (hopefully) be more effective treatments for male pattern baldness very soon, and personally I wouldn't want someone cutting up the top of my head on the eve of a possible cure.

Also when you go for a hair transplant you can get whats called "shock loss" (sorry if im saying stuff you already know btw), which is a side effect if you will of the procedure and that could make you lose alot of what little you have left up front. Then take in mind the fact that the tranny is gonna take a year to kick in, do you really wanna risk the permanent damage aswell as cough up 5 grand of your money.

Hair transplants imo really dont even produce desirable results either. If you want a young really good looking head of hair I would suggest perhaps looking into some non sergical replacement. For the amount you would spend on a transplant you could get any hairstyle you like from a good hair system manufacturer.

Anyway now that my hair transplant bashin is over, if you wanna know a good site for seeing the best surgeons in the United States work, you can go to http://www.iahrs.org

Some of the doctors there have links in their profiles to their own personal sites where you may find some more of the information you require.

.

Uh oh Mikey........your being positive.......that’s not allowed here with the bitter negative people!

They would much rather have conspiracy theories as to why there will never be a cure, simply forgetting just over a decade ago we had nothing and have reached leaps and bounds as to where we were. These same people don’t think that scientists and pharmaceutical companies are looking to help us, and I mean help us as in rake in millions of dollars for their "help." Indeed, I am not sure about 2 years, but somewhere between 2 and 10 perhaps if were lucky. But alas, by all means be bitter and negative folks, please choose to think nothing will ever be available to help us.

i have been on propecia, minoxidil, and nizoral for about 9 months....

my hope is from reading the gourmetstylewellness.com newsletter about hair cloning is i can wait till that technology comes out because that seems like it would suit myself....meaning a procedure to thicken up the top before waiting till your bald.

my hair isn't that bad, its just in the light and when it is wet it is really noticeable and i am really self conscious about it :(
