Has anyone had success with Dutasteride on the hairline? I only have hairline recession. I started dutas 0.5 Eod around 4 1/2 months ago. Since I started I have only seen my hairline recession speed up. Trying to hold out cause I read that is how the process works. But I haven't really seen too many people say they regrew what they had shed from dutas. I'm willing to stay on it for a full year to 18 months to gauge success. Has anyone seen this process come to fruition? (initial shed in the hair loss area, regrowth of said shed later on in treatment and possibly a little regrowth from original male pattern baldness shed). Or should I jump ship and try to save what hasn't shed? I have considered switching to propecia, maybe I'd be a better receptor to finasteride or could benefit from lower levels of scalp testosterone while on finasteride? I have upped my Nizoral usage to a daily 5 min soak and have added spironolactone S5 cream nightly here recently to combat the excess scalp test. I'm switching to regenepure here soon for daily ketoconazole that's not so harsh. Any success or failure stories/suggestions are greatly appreciated!
My current regimen:
Dutas 0.5 mg Eod
Nizoral daily 5 min soak
S5 cream nightly (might miss a night here and there)
I am 28 and have noticed my hairline getting thinner since I was say 22. I am really the only person who had noticed. I am still not obviously balding, to the common public. So it is a super-slow isolated hair loss pattern. The recession has really sped up like I've never seen before. So I know it is directly correlated with my usage of Dutas. Whether it is good or bad I am not entirely sure of. I am thinking I would have been way better off by ignoring my hair loss and never starting one single treatment.
