Does It Matter Whose Hair You Inherit?

Hi everyone. I have a small question. Does it matter whose hair you inherit? For example say a person inherits their mom's hair such as hairline, hair color and even texture and their mom and their mom's side of the family have hair loss does that mean that they will have hair loss too? Or Vice Versa if they inherit their father's side hair such as texture color and hairline and they kept their hair does it mean they'll keep theirs too?

I have a few friends whom have slick bald fathers yet they have kept theirs. They all have their mom's side hair texture color and hairline.

No, this is the oldest and most persistent myth.

The genetics of it are not well understood. If anyone in your family had Androgenetic Alopecia, you may inherit it.

The men in my mom's side of the family all had Reagan level hair even into their 90s.

My 5 year older brother has the same hair color as i do and i started to lose ground around the same time he did. My 2 year older brother has blond hair and is a f*****g NW1 with 0 signs of hairloss.

No. My mother's side of the family has relatively good hair. No balding uncles, etc. my maternal grandfather was a norwood 2 at 60. My father, however, is a Norwood 6. I inherited my mother's hair but my father's balding pattern. It's literally sh*t.

I have my Fathers side---dense hair it grows long thick lush curls..real hair model hair..

But I got my Mothers side with genetic hair loss.

I'm luckier than my Mother that I have more hair to lose so it's not as apparent.

My Mother said to me for years "I'm so glad you have your Fathers side of the family hair.'
