does less finasteride = less sides?

ive recently decided to get on finasteride. over the past year/year and a half ive been VERY slowly losing my hair. i cant really tell if im losing ground but i know for a fact my hair seems flatter and harder to style, which i translate to my hair having gotten thinner.

anyways, i dont want to rant on.

ive noticed that the "standard" dose of finasteride seems to be between 1-1.5mg ED. would the chances of side effects (specifically sexual sides) occurring be dramatically reduced if i were to take 0.25-0.5mg? also would this dose be dramatically less effective than 1-1.5mgs?

The amount of DHT that is inhibited by taking 0.25mg per day is basically the same as 1mg per day. Also meaning that you will still get sides if you are on 0.25mg per day, but maybe less severe. You could try starting out with a lower dose if you want and work your way up to 1mg per day.

I have heard of a few that were able to eliminate sides by lowering their dose. Take that for what it's worth.

This is possible to reduce your daily finasteride dosage down to 0.1-0.05 if you got sides.

People say different amounts of finasteride inhibit the same amount of DHT but its not really true. I mean dose still matters even if the curve is exponential although it can get to a point where you cant practically split the pills that small short of some liquid dose. In other words lowering/raising the dose always matters for sides but effectiveness is tied to that so you just have to decide that.

Its not about how much DHT it inhibits to help with side effects.
Its about HOW LONG it inhibits.

0.1 mg will inhibit dht for 3 days while 5mg can inhibit dht upto 7 days.

*i might be wrong but you get the point*

it doesnt really work that way. it has a reasonably flat dose response curve. i quartered the pill and it gave me the same sides as the whole pill.
