I took a look at the inredients in DOVE shampoo after I looked at the back of a bottle of its hairspray.

Water (Aqua), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Ammonium Chloride, Glycol Distearate, Glycerin, Fragrance (Parfum), PPG-9, Glyceryl Oleate, Polyquaternium-10, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Lysine HCl, Silk Amino Acids [Alanine, Glycine, Serine, Arginine, Isoleucine, Cystine, Histidine, Glutamic Acid], Borago Officinalis Seed Oil (Borago Officinalis) [Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Linoleic Acid, Oleic Acid, Eicosenoic Acid], Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Ext. Violet 2 (CI 60730).

Many of you will recognize alot of that.

Linolenic Acid and Oleic acid are both in Revivogen which have been proven to inhibit 5-alpha reductase.

Arginine is in NANO shampoo and Prox-N
Alanine, Histidine, Lysine polypeptide copper appear as the active ingredient of Tricomin, although they are presented as amino acids here.

Borage seed oil is bandied about on forums as an alpha five inhibitor interally and is in a few products not right on tomp of my head right now.

Palmitic acid and Stearic acid are in Saw Palmetto.

Propylene glycol and denatured alcohol are in the HAIRSPRAY>

ALL the ingredients above are in the HAIRSPRAY.................................

I cannot fathom why DOVE would put this stuff in their hairspray if they didnt think it was doing something really good for you. They dont advertise this as a hairloss product, but if you compare the ingredients in another hairspray I have you see just alcohol 40, deionized water, ethyl ester of PVM/MA copolymer, pantheol, amino methyl propanol, peg-75, lanolin, choleth 24, ceteath 24, octyl methoxycionamated, benzopehnone-3, benzoalklonium chloride, fragrance.

They dont even resemble each other. I think DOVE believes that there is something good about its ingredients. Again, they dont advertise the product as "good for hair", just as "weightless moisturisers" and "hairspra with natural movement"..............You cannot in the US advertise a product as a hairloss remedy without it being tested by the FDA, but I think these products that arent advertised, but are in other hairloss products, are included for a reason. Interesting stuff, and Im hoping that big companies recognize that men would like to keep their hair and use their huge resources more and more to make over-the counter, grocery store hair products to that effect.
