just a thought...drysol. This otc compound works for hyperhidrosis (hand sweating). It blocks the pores from releasing sweat. Could this work by blocking the hormones that make hair fall out? If your immediate thought is that it would also block other hair from growing--I thought about that, but I don't think so. Hair that is going to grow, will push through anything trying to block it. So that I don't believe is an issue. Maybe trying it out in areas that are totally devoid of hair, may be worth a trial..

On the other hand, regarding dermarolling, I believe that is 80% effective, together with washing your hair every single day with shampoo and never letting sweat or sebum collect in your scalp overnight.

Why dermarolling (eventhough I never used it)...because I have for 55 years a habit/tick of picking and scratching my scalp with my fingernails several times a day. I will pick any little scab or pimple and use my fingernails to scrape skin and sebum together off my scalp. This I believe is part of the reason I have kept pretty much about 90% of my hair at age 69.

Mind you I have tried everything and anything (except finasteride, minoxidil, or any drug) in all these years. You mention it and I tried it. For a fact you must never ever leave greasy sebum on your scalp overnight. And if you are under 25 wash you hair morning and night. No ands ifs or buts. Add dermarolling and you may not need a lot more to keep your hair. It won't grow hair, but it will keep it.
