dutas dose vs fincar

I get my meds from 4cornerspharmacy. im wondering because im confused, sorry: i take a 5 mg pill and cut into 4 pieces when im taking fincar. when im taking dutas, i take one or two pills a day as they come in .5 mg pills. Is this correct? One pill is 5 mgs and the other is .5mgs. Confusing (at least to me). Im asking about both because a friend takes the other so i wanna get it straight for once! THANKS!

Randy, I see that no one has jumped on here so I will try to help. Are you switching back and forth from finasteride to dutasteride? There are guys on this forum who may disagree with my advice but you really should not switch back an forth. The meds are different. If you are taking finasteride, why do you want to switch? Plus, dutasteride is really strong and the standard dose for BPH is .5 mg. The standard dose of finasteride for BPH is 5. Lower doses of finasteride are about as effective.
