Dutasteride For 9 Months - Regrowth And Shed

Dear all,

Please help me.

I am 23 years old male, currently consuming dutasteride 0.5mg/day.

In the first 6 months, I had siiiiggggnificant result. Hair is thickenedddd so much even in the hairline areas.

But start in january/february I feel that i am having extreme shedding a. I shed about 100+ hairs/day from all over my head. I can put my hand into my hair and easily pull out 10 hairs.

My temples area are now receded even further.

Please tell me what to do. Is this a good sign or something? Should i continue with the dutasteride or should i give up? How long do we usually recover from massive shed like this?

Mate, you dropped minoxidil + RU. Literally asking the Norwood gods for a shed.

Just jump back on the regimen that was working for you.

But, i only used minoxidil + ru on the hairline area... yet now im currently im shedding from all over my head.. and mostly thick black hair.

If the shedding is cause due to the discontinue of minoxidil + ru, the hair that shed supposedly only from the hairline part, right?

On another note, what is the difference of telogen effluvium induced by the dutasteride usage and hair loss?

Topical solutions won't solely effect the very area they're applied to, some of it is bound to go systemic. So it's certainly plausible that the drugs can affect all of your hair.

exactly. some part of the med go sistemic and affect all your hairs( this is why it increases body hair even if you apply it in your head ).

as of yesterday, the shedding has stabilised. now i only have 5 to 10 hairs while shampooing.

hopefully, it is just seasonal shed and will come back stronger afterwards.

just like it supposed to be with dutasteride treatment
