Following is the response I got from Katharine, I must appreciate her effort to answer our queries. Its very easy to ignore but she prefer not too.

Hopefully her response will help in clearing some of the vagueness,

Pls comment

1) I live in US, is there is any way I can participate in trial.

If we run a trial for ICX-TRC in the US, which is possible, we will put
the details on the website. http://www.intercytex.com/icx/products/clt/

2) Once its release in UK, what will be the way to have the
procedure done. Do I have to fly to UK ,or the extraction of cell can be
done locally.

The answer is we don't know yet how it will be regulated so it might be
possible to have the biospy undertaken in a different country from which
you receive the treatment. If ICX-TRC reaches the market, we still
don't know in which country it will be available first.

3) When are we going to start phase-2

The Phase II trial for ICX-TRC is due to start shortly and although I
cannot say precisely when, it will probably be during this quarter -
3Q2006. It will finish sometime during 2007.

4) It would be nice to see some photographs from the phase-1 , and
is there is any plan to release the results from phase-2

I haven't got any photos of the Phase I - sorry. Remember, Phase I
trials are to check safety, not efficacy. It happened that hair growth
was seen. Yes, we will announce the results of the Phase II trial,
probably in 2007.

5) What is our confidence level in releasing HM in 2008 , the
reason I am
asking it because in past we were not very good in keeping up to the
timeline.

I have not heard the term HM before but I am sure you mean ICX-TRC. It
is impossible to say whether it will be successful at this stage. When
you say "we were not very good etc" I think you mean Intercytex. We are
frequently asked for information (!!) about ICX-TRC. Either we can keep
quiet and not say anything and risk upsetting a lot of people like
yourself or we can give out some information - based on the information
that we have at the time. But the development of healthcare products is
not like the production of cars, say, so there are a lot of variables in
the timelines. It's a case of either giving out some information or
nothing at all.

6) Once procedure done, do we have to do the follow up procedures

If you wish to populate newly thinning areas - areas where you lose hair
after the procedure, then yes.

7) Any idea about how much the whole procedure will cost, all I am
looking for rough estimate so I can start saving for it.

No, sorry, but it will probably be a lot less than a hair transplant.

8) Will the price depend upon the area we need to cover, or will it
be just a flat rate

I am not sure - but I think a flat rate would apply.

9) Other thing is that , I keep reading that initially HM will be
offer in combination with Hair transplant. That statement confused me
cause on your website and in the documents, we always try to bring up
the flaws of Hair transplant and here we are saying that we will need it
as well.

I don't think this concept is part of any marketing plan from Intercytex
although it would theorbe possible to combine a hair transplant with
ICX-TRC. The success of a hair transplant depends on how much donor hair
follicles are available and if there were insufficient follicles,
ICX-TRC could be given in addition. It would be up to the individual
surgeon.

And finally, is there is any way I can help you guys in any thing. I
just want this thing to be successful, and want to be part of it.

I think that unless you actually worked for Intercytex, I don't know how
you could be part of it. If we need trial volunteers (which is what you
might be thinking about) we will post the news on the website.

I hope that this helps.

Kind regards

Katharine Harris

Wow nice work!

Probably posted in the wrong section however.

It's good that they passed phase I, but phase II and III are the hardest and most time consuming to pass, so I'm not going to be overly optimisitc.

It would be cool to volunteer in their trials though!

yeah, i won't be getting a 4th hair graft procedure then. I'll just get all the thinning parts of my head done and drop most topicals except a cheap SOD and maybe some GLA, and stay on dutasteride. dutasteride would keep me from having thin hair as a 70 year old. I don't know. Maybe just topical GLA and SOD, just like a conditioner.

Is it me or does the rep sound either unconfident or she only has a shallow knowledge of the product.

To me this doesn´t sound good at all..... I have strong doubts it comes out in 2010. Search the forum a few years back and you will see people speculating that it will be out in 2006/2007. if we are lucky it is out in 2012, i am fine when it is out in 2015.

When we see the first photos we will know it is close. When Bruce Willis is walking around and looking like Elvis Presley we will know it is out. Until then... *hugs his minoxidil bottle*

Well, I think she wasn´t so nice. She has answered deffensively all the time, when the questions were super-nicely formulated.

I think they should be a lot more concise and nice, since they´ve raised everyone´s expectations with their announcements, and that, after all, it´s a potential customer of their product, not a threat.

Specially taking in count they are not going to launch their product to the market at the time they´ve "promised", if you just do some maths. It´s not going to be in the street at least before 2009, if so: there are options that the process stops at any time with no further explanation (see dutasteride trials).

Or maybe that attitude is because they know they are not going to have it soon??

Probably they are already preparing their shields against the complaints of the thousands of people who is going to be anxiously calling them, feed by the hopes they´ve created in the press, internet, etc...

maybe they make early anouncements so they can sell stocks at a higher price.

Are they already on the stock market??

if not, this would be a good way to sell the stocks at a high price when they do get on, buy telling people they are close to a cure and about to go big. it could pay for more research.

^good thinking. i dunno, i read about those dutasteride trials just stopping before on the glaxoklinesmith (or woteva it is) website. i hope this does not happen here. that would be a nightmare! in this day and age they should be able to perfect this if they want to. phase I trials over, role on phase II !!!!

Andrew, you are scaring the sh*t out of me. :x Though I am not that pessimistic. Look, there are different firms working on HM. And evenif all three of them quit, there would be another one developing HM, because it is possible. Once it is achieved it is like a license for printing money!

too many large companies have invested too much money in this for it to just disappear.

It definetly won´t disappear. HM is our future, our only hope so far. The question is: When? When will we see it?

I actually think chances are against it developing within 10 years

Ok, here is the response i get from Farjo about the timeline and # of patient will be tested.

what the heck... only 20 patients. and they still don't have it on file.. .. either they are very confident about their product or they simply don't have money to afford more people

one thing is certain. with 20 test subject , FDA in not going to approved it.. therefore our best bet is to go to UK and have the procedure done (if it is available ).

Pls comments
