Quit zinc immediately, when you have solid morning erections! 60 mg zinc a day is suppressive to your estrogen level, and if you drive the estrogen level too low, you'll get reduced libido, ED and several other problems as well!
evidence?
Yeah... Read "The testosterone syndrome" by Dr. Shippen. Using large doses of zinc as an aromatase inhibitor is his idea.

i did once see a journal about rats (i think?) with zinc converted more test to dht, and less to estrogen, while rats without zinc converted more to estrogen...

but with these journals i cant remember how much zinc was used or how much that applies to humans, usually when they do these things they dose the rats up to ridiculous amounts

Hi Enden
you recommended quitting zinc immediately after observing morning erections. Does that mean the issue of erectile dysfunction is resolved? Would it not come back without a continued supply of zinc?

I have been on finasteride for 7 years with no obvious sides except persistent watery semen. About 2 months ago, I have problems getting a hard on. Erections have been soft and cannot be maintained. The last time I had morning wood was maybe a year ago. I'm not sure if this is due to finasteride or something else. I am 35. I am only beginning to read up on this when I saw your zinc recommendation, which I will start immediately. Appreciate your comments.

Not discrediting your story....but what makes you think that all of a sudden it's the finasteride? You say you've been on finasteride for 7 years with no problems, so I wouldn't jump right to finasteride as your problem.

Might it be? Maybe so. But don't throw the baby out with the bathwater!

I think the zinc approach is a good one. Personally, I started on 50-100mg of zinc every day when I bumped my finasteride intake from .5 to 1.25.

Just remember, all things in moderation

Hi. I don't know if it is finasteride, and that's even more troubling. Should I continue, or should I stop, considering reports of even worse sides kicking in after stopping. And I'm really getting scared now as I can't get it up. Other medications I took recently (15 days ago) were Tylenol, Amoxicillin, and a cough syrup that makes me drowsy.
