I'm going to give these guys a try. They say they use as many single strand knots as possible, only using double when needed for density.

Full caps are $145. No beating that. I also like their order form. I'll buy one just to see the quality, and then will get 3 after that if they are good. I'll try to wear out the one before using my second coolpiece, just so I know which lasts longer. I might also give in and do the knots sealer, since my swiss is shiny anyway. I wish I could get my small holed swiss, which was very dull and stronger.

He has a new beige colored swiss lace with smaller holes you can try. Also, if you order from him and you still want those temple flaps, better make a template and send that rather than trying to give measurements and e-mailing drawings.
