Finally Starting Finasteride Again After 1 Month Off Ar Inhibitors

So quit duta like 1 month or so ago, after being on it 4 days a week for 2.5 months. Have been getting morning wood literally every morning lately. I rarely got this when I was on finasteride, so a little worried that finasteride was actually giving me sides over time and didn't realize it. Will keep you guys posted on how my body reacts. If I have issues down there when going back on may just quit AR inhibitors completely, not happy with the results anyway. One question, wouldn't my DHT still be lower from the dutasteride than it would be on finasteride, even a month after quitting, given the 5 week half life? Maybe my body is just adjusting to having more DHT again? Also weird, I still have a lower sex drive than when I was just on finasteride, possibly because I am fairly depressed right now. Need to start working out again, shits not going well for me, hair loss is eating me alive.

Getting super fuckn depressed at how bad my hair is getting. Just found the pic my mom took of my hair the day before I started propecia, saying how I wasn't balding...When first started finasteride used to be able to style my hair anyway without people knowing I was losing hair, but now can't style my hair in anyway without people knowing. Even my goddamn sides, back, and sideburns are starting to thin pretty bad, and my eyebrows are thinning too. Really down, thought finasteride was going to be the answer. My hair quality is straight sh*t. Completely lost my curls. Looks like I am going to have no hair whatsoever now. Starting to think there is no point in even starting finasteride back up.

Would you conclude that your hair got a lot worst on this 1 month break or is it consistently going at the same speed it was on AAs?

Same speed. 1 month did nothing. Pretty sure the duta is still in my system. I was losing at the same pace on duta as well. My hair loss hasn't been super fast these past couple years but still definitely losing ground. Was insanely fast around 4-5 months in on finasteride for like 1 year. The first pic of my sides thinning was actually from like 4 months ago. Other one was from couple days ago.

honestly I think most posters here will only think you are whinning about your hair to get more validation about how great it is

Having used to have the thickest hair among my peers, I know how you feel though. But you will have a different perspective after you drop a few more Norwood and are one leg into the norwood cemetary

I get what you're saying buy my hair is far from great. I had like 2x density of most people. Sucks losing like 80-90% of it. Hair is thin as sh*t in light now and hairline is fucked. I don't get how finasteride could be working if I lost that much hair while on it.

Your hair still looks great. I don't know why you are asking me what treatments I am on when you have a thick head of hair with excellent density. I don't see your loss. Do you have any wet hair shots with the hairline fully exposed?

I thought same but if you look at his side in front of his ear it does look thin to me..hes still dense--but he may have hair loss starting and he notices..

this happened to me i had incredibly thick hair and everyone told me i was crazy because it took losing so much hair for it to be noticeable when I part my middle part...NOW if i show people they are like 'oh yea'..but i noticed it for almost 15 years. I thought i was just imagining it.

Hard to say because the lighting is so different in the two photos. Its best to show wet hair with the hairline exposed. My hair dry looks way better than when its wet.

I'll take photos when I get home. It's not really a question if I have significant hair loss or not. My hairline is insanely insanely thin. Wouldn't even call it a hairline.

I will give you my honest opinion when you post them. Just remember you will see yourself way differently than the rest of the world. I have to keep reminding myself of the same thing. You are your own worst critic.

Your posts at least give me some happiness. Humor is the only cure to this sh*t.
I agree. Nobody can cheer me up like my good friend Sunchyme. I will say Blackg, might do it for me too if I really "give it some thought".

Had temple recession (didn't really care about it at all tho cuz it was going super super slow and easily covered even with short haircuts cuz I had such insane density). My dad also had a NW2 hairline from his early 20s til he was in his mid 40s so assumed I was going his route. And neither of my older brothers have hair loss so never thought it could be male pattern baldness. 1 month before starting I noticed a lot of hair shedding in the shower tho and paniced. Also had a small area in the front center of my hairline where the hairs were crooked looking. They were still very long but grew bent and stuff. I honestly didn't think they were miniaturized hairs at the time cuz I never noticed hairs shedding from this area. I expected my dermatologist to tell me I had a thyroid issue or something cuz I had other symptoms, but he just looked at my hair and said it was male pattern baldness and gave me finasteride and minoxidil. 4 months later hair went to sh*t and started shedding like crazy and insane irritation. Derm said to stay on meds so I did, and here I am today. Had my thyroid checked 3 years ago at GP and never got test results but nurse said they were normal. My hair loss is weird too. I like never shed terminal hairs. My hairs seem to shrink into these lifeless crooked hairs then fall out. Guess it's just how my miniaturization works. Also have had bad scalp irritation and red spots on scalp since starting treatments.

Alright so I have some that are both dry and wet hair photos (I will label them as such). Obviously the wet hair ones under light look much worse. My hair has diffused significantly since starting finasteride, and my sides and back are thinning as well. Hairline is definitely the most fucked up, especially in the center area. Those hairs in the front inch center (few that are there) are all damaged hairs and none are terminal. Farther back you go the more dense my hair gets for the most part. Telling you my hair is pretty fucked up. Sorry lots of images. Going from best to worst though. My hairline is by far the worst. Honest opinion please. Also on the hairline pics try looking at the actual strands of hair and see how spares it is. The way my hair sticks together up top kind of gives an illusion that I have more hair than I do. There is very few follicles there.

So first will post images of the back of my hair (both wet and dry):

Dry under light: The lil part area is how my hair is cut. Goes from short to longer there. Might be thinning more there, idk.

Dry (almost certain I have styling product in on this one though; doubt my hair would look like that) I am insanely good at making my hair look thicker/better with different products. Definitely no concealer though:

I know that my hair has gotten infinitely worse. Even if you say its not horrible. It is honestly pretty horrible results after 3 years on finasteride, when my hair loss was next to non-existent when I started. Curious on your opinions. Sorry for all the images. Wanted to show a clear picture of how it all looks. My hair manages to look much much better dry than wet. I think when my hair is dry it gives off an illusion of being thicker in most areas, except the hairline. Legit refuse to go in pools now since losing my hair cuz of this. @DoctorHouse what you think?
