So today is my 4th month on finasteride and I have been taking 1mg tablets daily with no side effects. Well... i did have chest pains on 2 occassions, but those could have been from anything I guess, not necessarily finasteride.

I'm not really seeing any results as of yet, this is where I was at starting:

And this is where I am today:

Please note, I think the first pic looks better but isnt totally comparable because my hair is much longer and the lighting isnt as good. I had a moment of madness around month 3 where I shaved the top of my head down to a number 5.... that was a disaster I wont be repeating unless I am going full clean shaven bald!

Anyways, I dont think my hair has gotten worse, but I dont think its gotten any better. I thought I could see some results before I shaved it, so maybe i need to wait until its longer for a true like for like.

I do have days where I am just thinking of shaving it bald, but I will hold on a few more months as I am led to believe it can be a year before finasteride produces results.

Luckily, I can mask this pretty well for every day life with a can of £1.50 dry shampoo:

Surprising isnt it!

Ha. I’ve never heard of using dry shampoo like that. Great results. Think of the money you save on hair fibres, which give the same result

To be honest, i have tried fibres recently, when I shaved my head I had to use them because the bald area was so glaringly obvious! Nobody bar my wife knows about the hairloss as I have successfully masked it for well over a year now with the dry shampoo

I dont mind them, but like you said a can of dry shampoo does the same thing at a fraction of the cost!
