Finasteride dilemma

Used finasteride for a year and ten months. At the one year mark I had a large scale loss of hair with pain in my scalp and increased oil. Now everyone said ride it out so I stuck with it for 10 months.. Hairline was getting worse by the day, shedding maintained, and stinging/itching was killing me. Finally, I said I'm done and dropped it slow by low dosing. I actually stayed at like .5 because scalp pain was "bareable".

I'm off all treatments now (minoxidil/finasteride) and just don't know what to do anymore.. I have like 10k for a transplant, but I'm 24 and have nothing to stop the loss. I'm pretty sensitive to topicals so RU can't really work. Anyone have this issue and resolve it in some way? dutasteride could go either way lol I just don't know !

are you sure finasteride was the actual issue ? did you consult a dermatologist

cause one of the main signs of using finasteride is reduced oil and itch due to lower DHT

also did you try nizoral / ketakenazole shampoo ? it's a dandruff shampo with anti-androgenic effects

Yeah saw my Doctor and she told me to quit minoxidil. Quit that and had the pain all throughout winter up until August when I finally gave it up. I'm probably going to start minoxidil with glycerin instead of pg. possible use 12.5% but I need to stop the cause

I would get back on finasteride and stay off minoxidil until you get the formula with glycerin.

Minoxidil irritated my scalp, back when I tried using it. I used the basic no-frills kind.
