Has anyone ever tried the combination of an oral and topical anti-androgen?
I'm on dutasteride currently, I'm considering adding RU to my regimen. Is it worth it, or just unnecessary and a waste of money?
My hair loss is very aggressive btw.

They say its impossible to lose on dutasteride and even more impossible to lose on dutasteride/ru but this usually comes from ignorant people who get good results and think everyone else is experiencing the same. The painful reality is that sometimes nature wins over treatments if you have super aggressive hair loss genes... but you can try I guess as you have nothing to lose but money.

If you believe the theory that Androgenetic Alopecia is due to DHT then it should be nearly impossible to lose on dutasteride.

I'd agree with this. Really depends on how well you respond to the meds. On paper, it should be almost impossible if you're nuking DHT to castrate levels AND blocking the AR sufficiently. In reality, it doesn't work for some people.

Yes, but your assuming that T spike that is larger on dutasteride has zero effect which may or may not be true. Also if start on dutasteride at Norwood 2 or 3 once male pattern baldness has been rolling for quite some time there is no guarantee male pattern baldness will stop. Once male pattern baldness starts we all know more things come into play than androgens. Timing is key if you took dutasteride at the very very start of male pattern baldness then yes. Its also hard to say because we dont understand the sensitivity aspect of male pattern baldness almost at all yet

How do you block the AR sufficiently? RU is not proven to do that. Nothing out yet can really do that so we dont know if that works or what results would be. CB will eventually answer this I guess.

Well I do, but there is a study out there saying how dutasteride only blocks half or a little more scalp dht. So my thinking is, maybe taking RU will allow the follicles to not get attacked by the local DHT.
I'm just worried about 1 ) the RU going systemtic with the combination of dutasteride, and 2) if RU is worth the money

I'd take dutasteride if I could get it from a regulated supplier in the UK. I don't trust online pharmacies at all. Will have to stick to finasteride here. :(
