I noticed a thinning on my temples and so decided to see the doctor. Mind you, I'm quite vain about my hair and used to run my hands through my hair constantly and never noticed any hair.
Now the doctor prescribed 1mg finasteride only. I started the pills thinking I'm gonna combat the hair loss. Twelve days into the dosage and I noticed hair coming off in my hands. I quit finasteride immediately. Hair came off like they were stuck with poor quality glue from my temples. The shed was more "natural" in the rest of the scalp area (including the back).
Four months since quitting finasteride, the shedding continues. My temples are more stable now and the shedding is limited to the top and front. I noticed that hair is coming off nastily from my hairline now since last two months. Whenever I run fingers through my hair in the front I collect around 3-4 hair. Cannot style my hair any longer.
So, is this still being caused by finasteride? Or my kind of shedding is the natural male pattern baldness route? I'm positive this isn't observational bias or confirmation bias. I can see my hair all around the house. This wasn't the case before I started finasteride.
