finasteride sideeffects battle

Used 1.25 mg propecia before, and had some bad sideeffects, so I dropped the drug, and started using spironolactone 3x times a day, combined with 5% minoxidil. I have used this combination for 1 month now, and im pretty sure it has slowed my hairloss. But the problem is, its so anoying to put it on 3 x times a day, and my hair looks like crap.

I really want to start finasteride agein, because it was so easy to use, and it stopped my hairloss too. But im young, and my sexlife is very important for me, and I dont want to be in a situation where I cant get a hard on agein! So im looking into every kind of drug that will help me stop the sideeffects.

What would you recommend?

How about trying to take finasteride under the proper dosage? Rather then 25% more then the prescription strength?

Seriously, many people who report sides in this forum go on to report that reduction to 1mg (not 1.25mg) significantly reduced (or got rid of) sides. Yes, .25mg seems like sooo little differnce, but people seem to forget this is 25% more then what was recommended from the clinical studies for dosaging.

OR, try an even lower dosage then 1mg (see my sig for why). :hairy: People in this forum who have had sides at 1mg have reported lower sides when they lowered below 1mg....

Try 1.25 mg finasteride every other day (EOD) rather than everyday (ED). This might help to abate your side effects. Which side effects, by the way, are you experiencing?

I am very happy for you and your libido. But again, you were taking too much (yes, some is lost during the cutting process of proscar). If you change your mind, seriously consider starting with Propecia (or something that you know is exactly 1mg or less per dose).

the choice should be clear for a Man.....if the sides dont allow you to get it up, get off the drug or try to experiment. Sex, well at least for me, makes the world a great place!

Take 60 mg Zinc every day. Take 2,000-2,500 mg L-Arginine an hour before anything happens. Problem solved.

As I said, 1.25mg a day. But I really CANT understand, why the last 0.25 can make side effects. Some guys in here are taking 5mg a day without sideeffects!

Zinc? First time ive heard that agienst sideeffects.

Well, I know by now FROM EXPERIENCE. Anyway, I'd like to know about juststarting's experience about sides: which ones, when did you notice and did they go away after lowering your dose as I'm going to do now?

Well, fortunately I never experienced any sides -- and I still get morning erections etc. Though, I only was on 1mg for a couple of days before I decided to go to the lower dosage. See my signature below for details.
