finasteride so far

Hey guys,

I am 4 1/2 months on finasteride (2+ years on minoxidil)- i am pretty happy with the results so far, my crown has really thickened and there is no signs of thinning at all. I see some baby hairs on the hairline and it looks like my hair in the middle of my hairline has thickened up some.

If I am already getting nice results so early in, should I expect continued regrowth? I know some people say you don't see peak results until even a year or so. Im really just hoping one of my hairline corners/temples fills in

There's really no way to tell. Some people believe that if you respond well early then that's a sign you'll continue to have better and better results. I don't know how true that is though. You'll just have to wait and see.

Ughhh this left temple/hairline corner is killing me. I would hate to have to get hair transplant work done literally just on that but it drives me crazy plus the fact its only one side (uneven look)

The hairline is the hardest to regrow, wait it out 1-2 years. But even then, very little growth usually happens. Mind you, you're on Minoxidil. I'm in a similar boat but my hairline is real bad. Asymmetrical too.

I thought you said you weren't using minoxidil?

Right now, if i could get any thickening/regrowth on my left temple/corner id be happy.

To the ordinary eye, i have no hair loss after almost 5 months on finasteride, just praying for that one temple/corner to come in and get me closer to how i was pre thinning

I never said I was in that post, sorry for the confusion.

Without pictures we can't tell what's happening since you asked this quite a few times now. It seems like it's very minor loss you're worried about, means it's even less likely to come back if it's like literally a few hairs up in that exact corner.

Keep your fingers crossed. When I got to month 4, I had a terrible shed in the front that didn't stop for 4 months. Hairline receded faster than ever. I've stopped taking finasteride completely. Just hope to maintain what you have. Anything more is a bonus. It sucks but that is the reality. Even with finasteride/min most of us will probably need to do some minor hair transplant work. Not the end of the world though.
