Hello everybody.

I am 18. I have been on Finasteride (1 mg daily) for about 4 weeks.
I developed no sexual side effects. The only side effect that I noticed was that my cheeks filled in and my face gained weight. About the results, from the first week and so far, my hair started shedding around 300 hair every day. Hopefully, it is just a shedding phase and everything will work later.

Now my biggest concern. I had a bone bone cyst in my arm when I was 8 years old and had a surgery to fix that bone. Two years later after, I developed another bone cyst in the same bone and had another surgery. Bone cyst is a disease when a bone start to decays, swells, and leaves holes in it. However, three days ago, I felt pain in my arm and it appeared that I developed another bone cyst in the same bone.

Do you think guys Finasteride can do that in only one month ??
and do you think I should stop it ?
Also, for who developed puffy face and gained weight in their face? how far I will continue gaining weight in my face ?

I am very grateful for any help. Thanks a lot.

How is finasteride to blame when you've already had this happen to you twice?
I am not blaming finasteride. I am just asking if finasteride could have helped to develop a new bone cyst. And If finasteride can make things worse and I should stop taking it?
Because as I know, blocking the DHT does affect bone density. And as I have already a problem with my bones, finasteride may make things worse.

This is something you should take up with a doctor. I don't think a random forum member should be the one telling you what's best for your bones

Given the fact that you're 18 and your bones are reasonably developed i dont think finasteride had and impact on your bone cyst, although ive heard cases of finasteride causing osteoporosis after a long term usage. Now, considering the fact that you already had problems with your bones from an early age there might be a link to finasteride causing this to happen again. Anyways stop taking finasteride and see if the arm pain goes away otherwise visit a Doctor asap.

Do you know Jewish men who wear the yamakah for the sole reason of hiding their bald spot?
