Hi guys

Just got one question and sorry if my english is not to greate!

22 years old and went to my doctor for my hairloss, then he pescribed finastride for me to keep what i have.

Now i been on finastride for about 6 months. And had massive sheds 2 moths until now. Im loosing a lot of hair with white bulbs in the shower and also when i style and even touch my hair. My hair feels a lot weaker then before i started. But yet it seems my frontal tinning is spredning to the middle and crown.

Im loosing more ground than ever and seems like im difuse thinned when I shower. seems to me im loosing more hair then i will grow in this rate.

My question then, should i start Minoxidil to help regrow all that i have lost this couple of months? Or just wait it out 1 year as people say?
Does it have a impact if I would have a transplant later?

Thank you for good answeers:)

Bump!!

Im also noticing the itching time to times. and if i scratch i can feel some hairs falling of. Is this normal? I started finastride to keep what i have but now it seems that it is just spreading:(
Also on Nizoral shampo twice a week or something can't say i notice much improvent from that either.

Is it something else i can do? IM afraid starting on minoxidil in case of even more shedding and my thinning being visible.
But feels like that is my last chance to see all iv'e lost regrow. Or should I just keep on taking only finasteride?

Please answeer, feeling hopeless! :(

Seems like you're in a tough situation with your hair and scalp!

Since you've been taking Finasteride for six months and you haven't had any improvement, I suggest to switch to Dutasteride especially if your Androgenetic Alopecia is aggressive. Finasteride should have stopped your Androgenetic Alopecia by 3-4 months of taking it. I would not suggest to wait for an entire year of taking Finasteride since you're still losing hair at six months of taking it, switch to Dutasteride as I previously mentioned.

Using Minoxidil is to help with hair regrowth. It is possible to go through a shed when you start using Minoxidil to treat your Androgenetic Alopecia. If you starting using Minoxidil and a heavy shed starts happening, the shedding should last 2-3 months. Afterwards, the shedding should be drastically reduced, and then hair regrowth should start coming in. If you're still shedding heavily at four months of using Minoxidil, quit the treatment.

Using Nizoral shampoo should have relieved most of your itching. You might just be suffering from a dry scalp and may need to use a good quality moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

Talk to your doctor first before starting any new treatment.
