Finnasteride without going to dermatologist?

My Family Doctor said she doesn't know anything about Finasteride and i should get an dermatologist appointment, but its 50€ just for an appointment and thats not even guaranteed he will write me prescription for it, not sure what to do..

Yes, an office visit will cost money but most likely you'll get the finasteride prescription. Don't stress about the 50 pounds. Here in the US we pay like 100 dollars for the office visit, and I hesitated because of that and always regretted it.

My only thing is its cheaper/easier for me to see my doctor then a derm. The derm is going to use the prescription to keep you coming back, and id rather see my doctor i go to anyway then a doctor plus now a derm I dont really need.

Would a dermatologist typically prescribe 5mg Finasteride, a dosage intended for treating the prostate?

Has anyone ever asked a nurse practitioner to prescribe Finateride? Did it work?
