First try at minoxidil liquid

I used kirkland minoxidil liquid tonight, 1ml for the first time.

I gotta say a few things:

1) Greasy, at least in the hairline

2) Dripped everywhere, I was having to be so very careful not to have it running down my face.

3) No smell really, which is nice.

Any tips on the greasiness or keeping it from dripping down my face? I'm hoping it's a bit easier post-shower. I am considering buying 3 or 4 months of foam to see if I like using it better, to be honest.

I don't have experience with it, but perhaps put it into a rag and press down into your scalp, let it sit for a few seconds (so the moisture leaves the rag) and then press down on another area. Failing that, maybe just lay down and watch some TV while it dries?

Definitely keep us posted! I saw that stuff was only $11 and my eyes just about popped out of my skull. :woot: I'm looking forward to trying it.

Well, the dripping wasn't bad if it kind of stayed in my hair. It wasmostly right after it hit my scalp then it would try to run down my forehead LOL.

Well, nothing you can do about the greasiness I'm afraid, unless you switch to foam, which I'm told is better.

Know what you mean about it dripping down your face as well, when I started it would sometimes drip all the way down to my eyebrows, but you get better and more accurate at applying it after a while.

Try tilting your head slightly before you apply it, that way the minoxidil is not running vertical down your face when you put it on. Also try to aim the applicator for just above the hairline, that way it covers the existing hair and spreads into the bald area/peach fuzz without running all the way down your forehead.

Ok so I applied after a shower this morning. I think I got the dripping fixed, I might need a little more practice.

The greasiness is damn annoying though. Hair looks ok once it dries but it takes about an hour. Hard for me to make it not look so bad when its all wet with that greasy stuff.

I'm planning to just put on my beanie afterward, I'm just hoping that won't harm the process..? :dunno:

Sounds like a smart idea. I haven't got mine in the mail yet, are you supposed to apply it once a day or twice?

I'm still having trouble keeping it in any decent amount at the very edge of the hairline cause it wants to drip really bad.

Would it help if I rubbed it in with my finger around my hairline? I am curious if that would help. I don't want to get hand absorption unless some of you say it's OK.

Dude how else would you do it?? Are you saying you don't normally rub it in? You just let it sit there until it dries?

I've always rubbed it in with my index/middle fingers then washed my hands...Can someone else confirm this is what you're supposed to do..

LOL. Guys, never forget to read the manual that is included with the medicine. minoxidil is supposed to be rubbed all over the problematic area with your fingers. After that you should wash your hands. So, dripping should not be a problem, almost...

I've used both liquid and foam and much prefer the foam its not greasy at all and dries in minutes rather than hours. I can put it on then 5 minutes later style my hair and go out.
Its a lot more expensive but in my opinion its well worth it.
