Found something that actually grows new hair

I just wanted to write a short segment on something that I’ve been doing over the past few months that has actually been growing noticeable new hair. To start with, I’m 46 years old and have been on proscar(finasteride) for about the last 12 or so years and rogaine foam about the same period of time. I also take a biotin hair skin and nails vitamin and purchased a laser comb about a year ago and also use nizoral shampoo. I have slowly been loosing more and more hair each year and in the last year it has really thinned in my temple and crown area. Never did I see any new growth from any of the treatments Ive been on but I feel certain it slowed my loss down. So what has actually started to grow new hair for me? Ive been doing the dermroller 1.5mm micro needling about twice a week. At first it hurt like hell but now doesn’t seem so bad. I roll until I get a small amount of blood where the needles puncture usually right before bed. I was not consistent with it at first but I started to think I could tell new hair was growing in my thinning temples, other days I would question it but here lately I can confirm I’m definitely getting noticeable new growth and my temples have started to fill in so I will continue to do it religiously now. I will also be trying PRP injections at home soon. I have been planning on getting a hair transplant in the next year or two my hair loss bothers me so much but if this continues to work and the PRP is beneficial then it could prevent or delay me looking at the hair transplant route. Anyhow, I dont think I have been to this forum in the last few years but I felt like this was worth sharing and hopefully it can help someone else. I watched YouTube videos on derm rolling first and purchased my derm roller from Amazon for like $10. Good luck

Hey Matthew, you know, I just registered on this site to make the same post in the hope of helping out a brother. But it seems like no one cares that much .

In my own case I am 44 and have been treating my hairloss since I was 24 (I was a major player in the hairlosshelp.com forum back in the day ;)). Because I took action at the first sight of thinning I never suffered any heavy hairloss and never had to try and regrow a bald head which is 80% of the battle. Still, the last 20 years has been a rollercoaster ride but with overall success and I've manage to hold on to my NW2. What has helped me to keep the hair on my head primarily were the big 3, minoxidil, finasteride and nizoral. I didn't use them non-stop for 20 years, I cycled on and off in the hope that I didn't grow tolerant and the effects diminished. I think that was the right strategy. I also used lllt which in the end was too inconclusive to keep bothering with the inconvenience, so I dropped it. However about a year ago I noticed that I was losing ground even using the big 3 and I was starting to give up hope that I had anymore options. Then I stumbled across someone recommend the Dermaroller, and I looked it up on Youtube and found quite a few convincing testimonials so I decided to start in May 2020. Well, within a very short time I could see that it was definitely working and possibly more effectively than anything else I'd previously tried. I immediately started seeing terminal hairs sprout on the hairline and my crown thickened up. It's been just over a year now and my hairline has continually crept forward and thickened up so nicely that that area doesn't even look thin in the sunlight. I am amazed at how well this treatment works and yet seems to not get enough attention.

I also use a 1.5 roller but I use quite a bit of force and my whole scalp is quite bloody by the end of it. I was doing it once a week but due to the unpleasantness of it I reduced it to once every 2 weeks, but I might go back to every week again, maybe with less force so I don't wince so much when I do it.

I think in your case you may not need that hair transplant op afterall. Things should only get better and better and I would say if you can maintain this current routine, you're set. I'm certainly hoping that's the case as that's what I banking on too.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience and I can back up what you say 100%.
