Frontal thinning / Loss - rogaine for 1year 2 months, proprecia for 4 months

Hi All,

Been on rogaine for a bit more than a year now, and I started the proprecia in early february.

I have been having most of my loss in the front hairline area, and it seems to be getting worse. Ive been apply the rogaine to the front hairline, and it seems that this area is the one that is getting worse. I want to stop rogaine as i dont know if its done much over the last year, but i am afraid stopping it would also make things worse. the proprecia never stopped my hairloss like some report. In addition, it seems that its been getting a lot worse in recent weeks. My pillow doesnt have much hair on it in the mornings, but when i shower and do my hair an hour later, i still get a bunch of hairs in my hand (maybe 10?).

I also use nizoral every other day.

Any ideas or opinions?

first, you need to give finasteride at least a year before you can declare whether it's working for you or not.

Second, shedding hairs isn't a sign of Male Pattern Baldness. The shedding is probably caused by minoxidil

Right. I plan on sticking with finasteride.

However, should I drop the minoxidil if its causing shedding? I've been on it for more than a year.
