My dad rapidly started going bald in 40s and 50s. He is now fully bald.

I never got to see my mum’s dad, but my mum told me he went bald too.

I’m 26 and my crown has started to thin. I am weighing up my options.

Is it 99% likely I will go completely bald?

You're chances are high. If you're already seeing thinning I'd start finasteride.

I thought so.

Those in the UK, what is the best way of getting finasteride? Worth seeing my GP?

Ofcourse, but I would suggest also going to a derm though. GP's are useless when it comes to hairloss

You might not have the genetics for baldness. However, even if you do, nowadays there are things that can be done to stop it. I've known lots of men who started losing their hair and either did Minoxidil (not the greatest, but it may be all you need) or got Finasteride and got it back. If you're curious how to get finasteride cheaper, just search in Google for this code "STOP99BALD" . It could happen or not happen but if you keep worrying so much chances are you will. Stress can cause you to have some major hair loss.;)

Cheers guys.

My aim is to get a private prescription from my GP. Let’s see how it goes.

The only side effect that worries me about finasteride is reports of depression and suicidal thoughts.

I am from London and finasteride isn’t available over the nhs , so I order from dr Fox instead. It is pretty cheap you can get 56 tablets for £22 (excluding delivery)
