Ah, possibly the most difficult encounter while experiencing hair loss, IMO, is running into a girl I knew, liked, or was involved with during my high school days. I can just see it in their eyes during a chance encounter when they recognize my face but not my hair, as they remember me with a full, youthful head of hair. Now I look like I'm rebounding from some sort of disease!
The more considerate ones will avoid mentioning anything about my apperance at all, yet the vibes are obviously there (at least I think they are). And that is just how I like it, as obviously I want to get it out of the way without saying anything. So go ahead, discreatly glance up at my neverending forehead, get a good look, and grasp the situation.
The less considerate ones always say the same thing "Wow, you look old/older!"... "Uh.. thanks?" What am I supposed to say to that? I'm a nice guy and I understand they'll never know the embarassment of balding so I take the high road and usually respond with "Well YOU look fantastic!".
So does this happen to any of you often? You run into a girl at the supermarket, WELL aware those fluorescent lights beaming down on your head are doing you no justice whatsoever, how do you handle it? What goes through your head?
