I've been on finasteride for 10 months., and a few months ago I noticed that there was more fat in my chest area. I shrugged it off, since my nipples never felt sensitive. But now I can no longer deny it. I'm definatley in the beginning stages of gyno. What should I do? Go to 1 mg, or lower, or quit finasteride altogether?

This really sucks!

Dude, I am at 10 months also and for some dumb reason I too am starting to worry about the same thing due to reading posts on websights and noticing a little fat in my chest area.

Although here are my thoughts...

*Do you realize how rare it would be to devolop breasts on 1-5 mg of Finasteride let alone any other side effects like loss of Libido, etc.

-yet you hear about it like it's 25% of finasteride users report Gyno or side effects.

It is in your head, as it snuck it's way inside my head. Your getting older and your going to gain weight unless you workout/ eat right. If you worry about something like this you will believe it.

*It is extremely difficult to watch what the fat on your body is doing even with pictures.

-If it's hard to tell if your developing gyno than you won't know for sure untill you can honestly say "I have Gyno".

If you DEFITNATLEY have gyno, I would quit finasteride. There is no getting rid of gyno once you have it, except surgery. So you need to:

#1) Ask yourself if it REALLY is gyno
#2) Ask your self if you want tits or hair
#3) ask yourself if you could live with both

Tough decision but I'm sure you will do the right thing.

Take it every third day for a month or so then take it every other day. I've said this before...I know that my chest is not the same while on finasteride. My nipples always stay puffy and the chest is fatty lookin...gyno...maybe slightly...maybe just chest fat...but nobody should take that risk...thats why i take only .33 mg (every third day of 1mg) . Probably doesnt work that well but it still gives some effectiveness, but my chest still looks the same so i may be fu!ked. Saving one life is better than none. So reduce it more than 1mg.

GYno is scary stuff... I have a developed chest so it is tough to say if I aam getting gyno. Sometimes I think I have otehr times I don't. I know my chest is hard but right around my nipple is soft tissue, not much maybe a 1/2 inch in diameter. The rest of my chest is soft too, with muscle underneath. When I flex there is no softness at all...

I guess what I am trying to say is gyno may just be in my head, or I may have it??? I don't know.

I have developed some puffy nipples too. When I feel to see if there are any lumps forming with my fingers there isnt, but I notice that my nipples always get a little smaller when I do this and the puffiness subsides.

Also when it is cold the puffiness goes away. When I wake up though and sit upright on my bed(kind of slumped over) my nipples are puffy.

It is just my nipples that are puffy and there are no lumps.

I am not sure what to do.
