hair from the laboratory

Scientists in Berlin have used human adult stem cells to develop hair follicles, from which hair then grows naturally. The treatment provides new hope for people suffering from hair loss.Only a few hair follicles would need to be taken from the"patient"and used to generate as much new hair as is needed, which can then be grafted. This breakthrough has also brought the scientists a big step closer to their original research goal, which was to use lab-generated hair follicles on a chip as a substitute for animal experiments in testing creams and cosmetics. Many substances in the creams we use actually enter the body through our hair follicles rather than our skin.

Wow, this is something new regarding hair multiplication. I wonder when will it finally be on the market.

PS: funny thing is that these scienists are bald, so it's an additional motivation for them to invent HM faster :D

This is nothing new,

The problem is having the new hair continue to survive the hair growth and fall out cycle...

That and making sure the new cells don't also become cancerous...

is there further info on this?

its flawed anyway, because it still requires a expensive hair transplant procedure (just that hairs would come from petri dishes, not the back of the head.)

still requires a surgeon, and still requires alot of cash.

so it be still be only for the rich, and even if it becomes cheap, there will be a huge demand for doctors to perform it.

when they can transplant one hair, which then multiplys while in the scalp, yet only in the proper areas, while not becoming cancerous, and surviving hair cycles (as above poster said), then ill be impressed.
